Hi guys!
You might remember me from such awful books as http://nfggames.com/neography/pivot/entry.php?id=397&w=nfg_games - Character Design for Mobile Devices . Some parts of it didn't totally suck, and I've just posted one of them online: a Henk Nieborg interview. Many of you will know Henk already, he's been pixelling since the C64, and recently completed Contra 4 for the DS. I didn't know there was a contra 4 for the DS...Wow, this man, Henk, appears to be in fact one of the greatest pixel artist of our time... its history does resemble a legend indeed ------------- I ate leel's babies |

I thought he was a pretty celebrated/well-known pixel artist. You can see more of his work at > http://www.henknieborg.nl/ I was pretty (pleasantly) surprised when I saw his name pop-up in the list that Sals posted. "Contra 4 = Snake + Henk + Jawsh + Fejer + Monsoon2D + Sals + Gustav + Konjak + Panda + Vedsten + Paul Robertson Most in small doses, but it's definitely been the most Pixelation-heavy WayForward game so far." |

I'll be talking to him in the near future about his work on Contra 4 and the other things he's done this year. If anything noteworthy comes from that I will post a link here again. |

Man, I let this one slide too long.
I've been talking to Henk and expect to have the next interview up tomorrow or Thursday. It won't be as long or detailed as the first one, but there's some interesting stuff in there about Contra 4, his techniques, working under insane deadlines, etc. Here's a teaser! =D I'm quite happy with the way pixelart is treated right now. [...] In the older days i did a complete project by myself [...] Now-a-days its just small parts like tilesets or animations. Also, Everything needs to be faster today. Most jobs i get need to be done asap for some reason. ;)
