i don't get this :/ it's one of my best sprites, so i would like to know what exactly is the wrong part about it.

link: http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/27278.htm - http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/27278.htm

so i have my guesses:
a) colour fade: it was made in photoshop cs3, i just used two layers (one purple one green) and reduced the opacity of the upper one by 20% on each frame. so it's no automatic rainbow thingy.
b) frame speed: it shows fine in my browser, and i haven't received any complaints.

now what else can it be? i don't see it :s

I going to go ahead and guess it was "A" that did you in.

But for the record: This can be done by hand, a.k.a. "The long hard way with MSpaint".

you didn't get me. i did the fading effect with photoshopt, antialias and shading is hand made, pixel precise.

i know what pixel art is and i did most of it in ms paint. i use photoshop for layers, transparency and colouring, but i know what's the difference between pixel art and CG.

now i preferred to let the transparency of the layer create the different colours for the fade effect instead of making 5 palettes by myself.

here's the WIP topic: http://z14.invisionfree.com/c_spriting/index.php?showtopic=7959 - http://z14.invisionfree.com/c_spriting/index.php?showtopic=7959

now i don't see what's wrong with that effect, i did it in another sprite and it was accepted without any problem...

Two key words there: "BY" and "MYSELF". Then again that could be a little harsh from a purists stand point. I dunno, let's see what everyone else has to say.

You shouldn't have said that. Now the law around here is going to have to poke it's nose in your business.

• Records indicate you have two accounts. http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?fid=13646 - This one (http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?fid=13646) & http://www.pixeljoint.com/p/11025.htm - this one (http://www.pixeljoint.com/p/11025.htm)

• Your other mentioned pixel has now been sent back. Thanks for pointing that out. You may see a badge/star in your profile soon.

• Trasparencies and fades are certainly OK in the real world and this happens often. However, we like to adhere to extremely strict standards so that even if unrealistic we learn how to create pixelart and thus become better at it ourselves and to better analize/help others. We seldom use many things one learns in school in real life but without that base we would be uneducated.

• We all join the PJ community and willinglly agree to abide by the rules. PJ has yet to join anyone.

• You make very nice pixels and original/clever ones too. I have seen your DA account and perhaps your 'hybrid' pixels may be shown there (they are waaaaay stricter now, btw). Personal webpages make a great place for experimental and hybrid PAs.

• When I said  A before, I was not guessing. I sent your pixel back as I see clearly what you did and it does not follow our rules which are really not up for discussion. In order to change the ways of PA as we see it you'll need to prove convincingly why it should be allowed. This topic has been visited so often its no longer even interesting really...
...move on, create new PAs of fix this one and the one just sent back. No harm done no offense taken...

...yet.

two accounts? that explains why i keep getting logged off from the site each time i log in at the forums and vice versa. the thing is, why did the system accent two accounts to register under the same name? i mean, i tried to login to the forums a couple of times and that wasn't working, i thought i needed a different registration for it and it's the only way i got logged in in the forums.
that also explains why i can't update my profile info without it saying my email is already taken... >.>;
sorry for creating this problem. please, could someone delete the one account with no pixels in its gallery (probably the one i'm posting this with...).

back on the sprites, okay, i'll change the files. the animation wasn't part of the sprites itself, it was for the eye to have a nice fluid impression between the two colour versions of the sprites, but if that's a problem i'll just change the files right now... i just didn't understand the problem but i do now.

there, changed.

Sprite is now added.
Thank you so much for understanding.
The leopard one however you uploaded the wrong file. Fix that and PM or leave me a note here and I'll add it immediately.
