Okey dokey.

Well the sword is facing left, so shouldn't the blood be dripping down?

I think that's pretty much it from me, good luck.

Umm... yeah... thats why I put it in the work in progress bit... because its a work in progress... in other words... to be continued next time I decide to get off my ass and carry on. I will eventually start the blood dripping, when the time is right. (When i can be assed)

He realises it's a WIP, if you post it here you're expected to post updates whenever you can. He can't read your mind whether you were gunna start on the drips eventually or not.

Good luck with your piece.

Many crits, be prepared...
Well, I think the blood is fine like that. It could be from a stab, and not much blood actually stays on the sword after the stab.
As for the design of the sword, it is boring. Spice it up with some gold or jewels or a different handguard or blade or something.
Lighting. LIghting is off, the blade says the light is coming from the top, while the hilt and handguard are pillowshaded (light directly in front).
Colors. Too many colors, two or three different shades would do.T The blood should be desaturated (more grey, dimmer)
Well, thats all I got, for now. Good luck in this and don't give up. I will edit once I can get on my REAL computer and not this Wii

Nah, it's fine.

But in the future if you're planning on adding something to a piece that isn't currently there, let us know, we can't read your mind... not yet at least.

you'll find out a lot of strange things if you read my mind. It would be as bad as Gordan Ramsay's atitude.

I spiced up the sword a little bit. Do you like? Please give me some c&c people.

I would suggest lengthening the blade and the hilt; a sword is generally longer than what you have now, and it doesn't look like there'd be much room for a hand right now either. I also notice that the blade isn't shaded quite right for its shape. The way light bounces off of it now suggests it to be a cylinder, while it's actually something like an extruded diamond. Show the planes of the blade and differentiate their lighting instead of just gradually going from light to dark without respect to the form you're trying to represent.

You might also consider changing your palette some: pure greys, while great when used to blend wildly different hues, aren't very interesting to look at. Consider tinting the sword to a more bluish color or giving it a reddish glow. Anything to make it look more interesting. You might even want to try showing yellowish highlights and blue shadows to hint at a yellow lightsource like a torch or bonfire. As for the red, it's very bright and not really the color of blood. Make it a little less saturated (saturation is distance from grey and more saturated colors stick out more like vibrant red and blue flowers under bright light, while neutral or dull colors are rather unsaturated) and also darken it just a little.

It's still quite boring like BlackDragon said. Keep those jewels there but add a centerpiece gem. right where the blade and handle meet.

the cross part looks a little too long, maybe shorten it a little (but keep the gems).  the blood looks a little cheesey, try adding more color to it to make it more indepth and gorey
