here is where i'm gunna post w/e i make so ya my first order of business also i'm gonna try to keep avatar updates in the first post just so you can see the progress side by side it's my weirdo way of organization http://imageshack.us">  my avatar type thing. i have updated the avatart thing i took out the heart cuz hat was just a space taker upper thing cuz it was kinda bare but yah i got the direct link to so here it is =) i tried to redo some shadeing on the sword and wound up redoing the rose all together  and after all that it doesn't look much different. tell me what you think thnx the only other thing i don't like is the top of the rose looks wilted but w/e EDIT Sorry not sure if the image was showing up EDIT:kk sory i'm restless i wasn't getting any responses so i went and tweaked a lil and got this  i thhink it lokks a lil better the moon kindof helped with the rose but the sword still looks of...  thanks OK 4th try i think i like the out come except the words but what can you do right? just gunna get some final crits and see what you gots to say ok i' done with this piece i'm happy with it and thats it so ya  ------------- There is no God or King... You are allowed to have a thread, just not 1000 individual threads, flooding the front page. That's why Jal is getting frustrated. The piece is very simple at the moment. If realism is the goal, use google image search for swords and roses, as reference. Even as a style preference, this still doesn't stand well enough on it's own. I'd suggest working a wee bit harder on these... *ps, " But, what does it matter i bet this will get locked too so thanks anyone who get help in..." is just another way of egging us on to lock another one of your threads. Please, don't go that route and just try to improve... |

Some quick things: -more contrast is needed, it's difficult to tell the colours apart. This will be important for adding further detail, as BOB already suggested -the font colour is very difficult to read on that blue -I think this needs a bit more balance, it seems a little random right now. ll thanks this is my 3rd thing in pixel art i'm my comp sucks (lagging(which isn't good i need to virus scan)) on top of this i got a crap load of honor classes i think it took and hour in total for all this scattered over a couple of days so ya thanks when i get some free time I'll screw around with it. oh, just a small pro tip: use the direct link feature of imageshack. it helps us to zoom your picture with the forum scripts.

another tip: pixel art will take a LOT more than an hour total scattered here and there. It requires lots of time and patience. So find some time either on the weekend or something to really sit down and work hard. After the frustrating hair pulling part, it's really quite a relaxing hobby.

ok so any tips on how to make this more realistic? i think my problem is the lack of pixels more pixel gives you one of 2 things 1) sharper picture for better realism or 2) a bigger canvas to make stuff like pixel town so yah

Use references. Let's take your rose for example - the stem is perfectly straight, it has one single leaf, which is perfectly straight and symmetrical and perpendicular to the stem. Nature is much more organic, there's rarely straight lines, there should be good flow and movement in the rose, not just a red oval on top of a green line. Look up images of roses on google, sketch it several times until you think it looks realistic and then try to pixel it. holy crap those links are good and know what you mean about the rose it's just i can't seem to get it right for some reason lemme try again and i'll update EDIT IS it okay to use the cut out tool thing? like to mve something or do i gotta repixel it? ------------- There is no God or King... It'd help if your posts in this topic included the corresponding update so we wouldn't have to scroll back up and read the edited date to see if you've done anything new. sorry i like to keep my edits in the first post i did that way there is less scrolling i should have mentioned that it's my wierd way of organization and i have a 4th pic now in the first post it's here too so ya like i said in first post i like it all except the words but w/e ------------- There is no God or King...
