well it seems like creating websites is a hot topic around here lately.  Its mainly a site for my game dev team i work with, but it will also have a spot for all of our portfolios.  (that part hasn't been built yet)  Most things work on the site - alot doesn't yet, but I just wanted to know these few things:

1) does it look okay in your browser? (alignment and stuff)
2) do you like the overall design of the site?
3) do you have any suggestions for the site?

I'll continue to work on this site and try to add in any suggestions or whatnot you may have.  I just want to know if i'm heading in the right direction.

Browser Tests:

Firefox: Failed, left sidebar link buttons have a border

IE: Passed

Netscape: Failed, left sidebar link buttons have a border.

Opera: Passed

............................................................ ...

You also should work on some of the coding of the site.  For one, you are using an invalid doctype, which can cause you some serious problems in the future.  Throw some Meta tags in there so searches like google can find you.  I hoighly recommend also looking at http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://calypson.batcave.net/ - w3c's validation site , the more compliant your page, the less likely people with older browsers will have problems viewing your site.

You should also start using a stylesheet as opposed to simply adding style into everything you want styled.  This will shave ALOT load time off your site, shrink bandwidth use, and also make editing alot easier.  If you have any questions on how to do stylesheets, I can help you out, either personally or I could just bombard you with links.    Plus sine you have your portfolio on this site, it looks better to potential employers when they see you took the time to do that.

As for the overall look and feel, I like it, the only think I would change is maybe a little splash of color in the header, other than that, you are doing great.  I hope I was able to help a little...

1: I only use IE, and it all looks good for me.

2: The general feel of the website is really neat. The color scheme is nice on the eyes (and it's my favy color  blue).

3: I'm not sure about the way you did the links under different boxes on the left side. The links don't seem to belong to the box they are attached to yet they are there and might confuse some people when they first view your site.

As for suggestions... once I think of something that you can add, I'll tell you

Indigo:  You've got such wonderful artistic talent -- it might be nice to feature some of that in the various elements of the site.  Use all those pixel art skills to make headers, subheaders, borders, etc.  Make the site part of your portfolio.

Edit: I know that's not terribly specific or helpful, but I just think it would great to go in more of a http://supertotto.com - supertotto , http://mrwong.de - mrwong , or http://armyoftrolls.co.uk - armyoftrolls direction.
