Ok something very bizzare happened to me today. I got an art assignment to draw a self portrait in pencil and have been putting it off for weeks now. I have not drawn since highschool 4 or so years ago. I have always hated drawing figures but tonight was different. I just sat down and started drawing. The lines were coming so easy! It was very bizzare to be drawing and enjoying art again. The shading just fell into place naturally and the whole thing was done in about an hour.

The odd thing is that I do not recall ever being able to draw as well as I did tonight. I feel that in the 4 years of not drawing I've gotten literally twice as good as I was back in highschool. It's odd, I actually am really proud of this picture and want to preserve rather than throw it away. I think some of it may have to do with my constant calculating in art. I can see proportions and relations really easy. Perhaps that had something to do with it. I'll post a pic if I can find a good digital camera.

Digital, traditional, or other, art is art. Your PA skills probably kicked in while you were drawing. Sounds like you had quite the learning experience. Can't wait to see that pic.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling? I think most artists strive just to feel that incredible satisfaction and accomplishment, and that's why we keep drawing. Can't wait to see it, yo.

I had sort of the same thing when I actually tried to draw. I always doodled here and there, but the first time I really started with some lines with the idea to remove them I actually figured out I was able to draw, witch was very different from what I always tought.

Its indeed a great experience!

I had the same sort of experience, perhaps more subtley, when i drew after purely doing pixelart for so long. I definetely learnt alot in the time i spent pixelling, and you obviously have too. But more dramatically i see. :) Keep it up.
