sorry to be on a weird topic but for a little
while now I've had countless random people contacting me on msn, saying
they found my name on "a forum" or "a webpage" and then, basically,
asking me to webcam and "play" with them
I am exceedingly grumpy about this, it's a hassle and a waste of my time and I'm trying to track which forum I'm on which is causing this influx of.......rude people. So has anyone else on this forum had this problem recently? (I'm female but one of the contactors THOUGHT I was male so it may be an issue for people of either gender) ------------- www.semesteratsea.com |

Countless(?) random people asking you to "play" with them on the cam? All of sudden?
It seems to me that someone's passing your msn somewhere. This would be a malicious act of someone who doesn't like you or wants to annoy you... Any enemies, ex-friends or people you can think of? EDIT: try googling for your msn address, see if you find where it's been |

Tell them to EMAIL you, not
just chat with you, so you can have thier email address, say that you
will send them something (anything really), you then can tell them that
you have thier IP address and tell them you are 18. I had my lil
sister do that, and most of them never tried again, and if they do,

I actually got someone supposedly from THIS forum asking to veiw my
webcam. Personally, I'm not into someone seeing me without me knowing
who they are. The person didn't even tell me who they were on this
forum, or even asked me how my day was going. They just asked to view
my webcam and... I'm sorry but.. got rudeness?! I'd at least like to be
ASKED how my DAY was or.. or.. I dunno.. show some intrest other than
what supposedly it looks like. Too weird.. too weird. But, that's the first time I got someone that rude. I actually got this one guy from Pixelation who said I was cute, which was very complimenting. :) He wasn't a dick though, like the other guy was. And then I got this guy from DeviantART who tried to freak me out over AIM with some stupid message about how "they were coming for me". e_e ------------- |

There are some stupided jerks in this world. Theres nothing you can do except ignore them. I havn't gotten anything like that happen to me, but you just have to ignore them and block them. ------------- For every second spent wondering if you can do something, you could spend 2 seconds doing it. |

I do block and delete them as soon as I figure out they're weirding me
out (usually 2-3 seconds is what it takes me :-)) but it's still
bizarre that it just HAPPENED all of a sudden, when it wasn't happening
EVER before!

| I gotten a few random people adding me to their MSN lists...but the weird thing is, they never talk to me. I see them online, and clearly they went to some slight effort to add me to their list but then nothing. Kind of creeps me out :P |

I rarely use msn but have had a few people try to get me to add them to my list. I don't know them so I didn't add them... it's as easy as that. Hell, I can barely chat with the peeps I DO know on MSN. ------------- |

I have not once added anyone to my msn unless they were re-newing their old email account or asked me to add them - weird eh!
I get a lot of strange people adding me to their list....usually 'hi sow-Lou do u have a webcam?' : / and in most cases they are a lot of strange men who don't speak english properly. And back in the day of 'dolling' I used to get tonnes of young girls adding me to their list saying 'hey so-lou just wanted to say hi and your work is so inspiring' o____0 fangirlswtf? ------------- -So-lou |

You can play with yourself. Just find some way of doing it that doesn't
involve pissing off random people. :P Well, I have been contacted by some random people, but they were probably somebody at a forum that I didn't know. The only time I've ever been messaged by somebody I had NO idea as to who they were was on AIM. Some dolt named WarnPeopleBot just kept spamming some stupid message like "OH CRAP!" or something. Of course, it might've been some idiot from some place I went to being... an idiot. But, how about when you get some person that you know from school or somewhere that is annoying, and they IM you. Then you block them. Then they come up with another account and start being annoying again. Then you block them, and they come up with another account. It gets pretty annoying after blocking them for the 10th time. :) |

Heh, yesterday I thought of a funny way to deal with those people who want insist on watching your webcam... First I just pointed my webcam downwards to my desk, so you only saw black. I've gotten random messages, but it's never for webcam crap. It always
ends up being a small time programmer that usually doesn't know what
he's doing that does small talk before he asks the question about
whether or not I'll make graphics for them. The answer, more likely
than not, is no.
