I believe you could make the hand a bit more simple, in order to increase the readbility. it looks overdone to me.

Ugh, you have the weirdest proportions ever, anyway small edit.

I think the arm in the edit of the opening post looks great.
The position of the weapon seems off though, it does not look like it's resting on anything like it probably should.

Please post the link to the pixelation thread too, so that you don't get any feedback that has already been said.

and for those too lazy to actually click it,

i'll fix the weapon when i get to it, right now it's just there so i know something is there and he doesn't just have his hand in the air

edit: another quick update. messed with the palette, changed the axe design, and got some wip shading on the shirt

Hi 1Up,

Nice progress.
There are a lot of anatomic issues, but for the most
part I dig the way you have done to make it believable!
Please make him fat like you had with the blue . M.E. liked it

The thumb on the handle would really wrap around the bar.
Even if it was balanced on his shoulder the thumb would
easily be tossing it off-balance.
Check the line on the inside of the elbow. Probably it
makes more of a diagonal than the almost vertical
line you have now.

Looking forward to your updates!

Best regards from

M.E.

EEEP Rating.

Not much of a c+c man I'll take a little whack at this:
-im loving the colors and their use
-the back of the man's head has a little "splooje" of a lighter tone and im not sure how it makes sense in terms of volume (prolly just the result of quickness)
-although the shirt shading does look nice in terms of volume, i think some of the highlights are a bit outta place, but other than that, your doing a killer job
-Always loved your character sprites, keep it up

i just decided to scrap the shirt's shading for now, cleaned up some of the lines too

this scarf is giving me such a hard time dsfgdgsfgf. i swear i've tried at least 5 times and each attempt to shade it came out like sh*t

edit: oh

well hmm, by trying to look at the head without the scarf you can see that there is no place for a neck :/ probably by making the head one or two pixels up ?

rushed and sloppy, but might give you some insight? I also stole some of the face colors because I thought they would work well.

[edit] and keep in mind i didn't raelly pay attention to the lightsource on the piece when I made this, I guess I'm getting too used to upper-left.

I don't know why I didn't realize this before but there's something wrong about the feet I think:
As we see part of the top of his head and also kind of looking down onto his shoulders, this implies that the "camera" is higher than the horizon level.

The straight line near his crotch suggest that that's the horizon level but at the same time, the straight (imagined) line through the bottom of his boots suggest that that's where the horizon and the camera is.
That last thing however, contradicts the fact that we can see on top of his head a little (even if it is bent forward by a few degrees), so the horizon must be somewhere at the level of his crotch.

If that is the case, I think we should be able to see onto the top of his boots as well.

I tried a sloppy edit of your piece to find the horizon line but I wasn't quite sure where to put it, because, judging from the fact that we see onto the top of his shoulders and his head, the horizon should have been above his head, unless he's bending his upper body forward but in that case, the stance of his lower body and legs would seem impossible (being that far back and the belly that far to the front AND him bending his upper body forward)... yah, I'm not sure.
Here's the sloppy edit, I talked about (don't take it for truth though as it might well be the case, that I totally misunderstood your perspective):

The changes in the angles of the thing around his neck and shoulder areas do assume the horizon to be where it is in the image.
If however, the horizon is above his head, then I think most of the upper body could stay as it is and only the lower parts(especially the boots )would have to be adjusted to match the orientation of the upper body and maybe the legs would have to be foreshortened quite a bit.

Whew, I hope this makes at least a little bit of sense. If not, feel free to completely ignore this post.

That probably made more sense than you think it did :U

though i guess the feet were like that because i'm so used to doing smaller sprites with that flat line, it's just become a habit to make everything like that without even realizing the perspective is off. i'll mess around with them and see how it looks though, thanks

edit: quick fix on the feet, hopefully that got what you mentioned

also changed the weapon again because it wasn't OMG BADASSSSSSSS enough
