Try to make his arms move when he walks, other than that I think it looks pretty good so far

What this needs most is feet that also move to behind istead of only front. It's supossed to be a walk right, not a march? ;)

It looks like he's just stomping and his feet are gliding across the ground.

yep agreed that they are like march Opacus
E-Bomb sorry, but I can't understand what is "gliding across the ground" :(

Normally when a feet is on the ground its not moving. The body on it is.
E bomb means that it looks like the feets placed on the ground are not standing still, it looks like they are going forward while they can't. This is already fixed btw because the background stops moving every time.
Still it would look better as opacus said when the leg would move further backward. Than you could make the background continuously moving
I hope you understand now :)

Sorry about being unclear, I didn't know how to word it.
Also, the background perspective should match the mouse's perspective, but it doesn't. In other words, there should be a horizon.

@ebomb, there is no need of a horizon if this is meant to be like a game character or so, the background is just drawn in parallel projection..
There are a thousand of cases were there is no perspective (for example all isometric things.)

hm I listen E-bomb and start one phase with horizont ... will see how to make animation of the background - for now haven't idea, because animation stop and I'll need 6 or 8 or 10 px to move background in perspective :) But this is something new for me and will test ...

Check out what I did with the feets.

Remember, I am not an animator, I am just a perfectionist!!

thank you Lollige I see for what you talk and will try in the future to think for that ... also repair and some rugged pixels under his legs and repair background ... background is only with 4 frames /need maybe 8 or 10/ and look poor and too fast, but if I put more frames for background the files will go up too much and will be hard to make clear animation, because background stop when mouse stop :( Also need some elements in second line at the two sides, but will have upper problems, that is why think now this is completed.
If animation haven't break will be better, but think with break is more fun :)

i dont get why the scenery stop moving at every steps..
usually when i walk its a continuous movement that never stops.

exactly. even when the movement of the character suggest that there are pauses between each step, its because its happy expresion that a continous movement is better. portraying him this way -with the scenario stoping at every step- suggest something more dramatic that I don't believe is the idea of the character. also, that little piece of hair over his head could be improved. right now it doesn't really look credible. a more simple bobbing movement would be more accurate in my opinion.

when your mouse, which is very cute , holds his cape in his hand and his foot disappears, is that because of the shadow of the cape or because the cape covers it? If it covers it the foot is too low to be covered completely and some should still hand out. Also if it's just the shadow the shadow should be less dark and the coulor of the shadowed food should the same as when it's beneath him when the foot moves back... Long... Sorry... Understand?
Edit: For some reason i don't like the ear movement in the walk and the listening actions. When he stops maybe make him turn his head and sniff... When he's walking maybe make his ears bob ( <- Action? ) or move up and down slightly.
