PLEASE NOTE: THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED AS REQUIREMENTS HAVE CHANGED.

SUMMARY OF EDIT: Sprites will be supplied for you to animate.

Hi there,

I posted here a couple of days ago regarding paying for an artist to draw sprites in my latest game, but in the mean time, I have been pixeling a little bit myself.

I have decided to ask for a little less work. This is for two reasons; 1. It will be cheaper for me, 2. It will produce a game in the exact style I wished.

Below, you can see a sample sprite sheet for one of the main characters of the game. The sprite sheet is done in layers; legs, torso, arms, head. This is for various in game animation, and of course, ease of editing. The current sprite sheets do not include animation for running, crouching, jumping, climbing or dying.

The work I am asking for is animating the following:

  • Legs – running
  • Legs – crouching
  • Legs – jumping
  • Legs & arms – climbing (ladders)
  • Legs & arms – climbing (crates, fences, through windows, etc)
  • Whole body – death

All sprites, apart from climbing and dying, have the arms in "gun position" so that gun sprites can be added afterwards. Also, running and panting effects can be added in the game by moving the body/arms up and down one pixel at a time.

Characters will include "swat team", rainbow6/counterstrike style clothing, terrorist clothing and civilian clothing. The civilian sprite set does not need the same amount of actions, but we can discuss that if you decide to be in on this project. There is also one more sprite to animate, but this information is being kept inside the development team as to not spoil the plot.

As you might have noticed, the workload has been cut down by supplying the sprites for you. If you are interested in animating these sprites, please contact me and I will send the spritesheet layers via e-mail. Then you can have a go at doing a couple of the things I have asked, and if all goes well, we can arrange contract of payment and discuss timescale of the project.

Thanks for your interest.
