I just never was able to get into RPGs for a few reasons:
-they look boring (they're pretty, but I mean look boring as in looks boring to play)
-I don't like reading
-All you ever do is wonder around and talk to people, yawn!
-Orchestra music puts me to sleep.
I really wish there were more games like Metal Slug and Gunstar Super Heroes because those are the games I like to play, but when 2D is said most everyone thinks about RPGs.

Very biased opinion if you ask me, many people appreciate those types of games. Metal Slug is in a completely different category of gaming, you can't even put the two against each other. Many games are made in 2D not just RPGs. It just seems every newb now a days wants to make a RPG maker type RPG...

Sorry, but my thread is targeted to people who don't like rpgs. I know a lot of people love rpgs, but I really want to hear the other side of the story from people who don't like rpgs. I've always hear the rpg lovers opinions all the time, but I didn't want to make a flame thread, I just wanted unite with people who feel how I feel about rpgs. I don't care if it is a fact that most people like rpgs, I'm just interested in the few that don't.

first off, it would help your argument to list the rpgs that you HAVE played. List the reasons WHY you don't enjoy them. Perhaps even list ideas to make them better.
Example:
I don't like brussel sprouts. They taste like doo doo and they look like giant boogers. My mother boils them up and makes me eat them with a pinch of salt. I think they might taste better with a cheese sauce and deep fried in a tasty batter... mmm

Shmups.
Though I do on occasion play RPG's. RPG's are more of less like an interactive book than a videogame in the traditional arcade sense. If you really want to play a terrible arcade/reader give "Quiz and Dragons" a try.

Some kids at school let me barrow their pokemon game and it really bored me. I've played an rpg on a store ds or gba demo (can't remember what it was) and it did not entertain me at all. I also remember playing rpgs on the snes when I was little, not knowing what they were, and bringing them back to the video game store because of how boring to me they were.

While its true that many RPG's can get tedious and boring, there are many great titles out there. Not every game is alike, so you can't say every RPG has orchestra music. The same goes with any genre, even shooters. Pickling many good titles is advisable before you go bashing a genre, I could say I hate platformers and have only played, lets say, Super Mario 2. Its all just a matter of taste.
And thats all I have to say about that.

You don't like RPGs that's fine. Does it really merit a thread?
What is your goal with this thread?
Are you trying to gather opinions or persuade others?
You don't seem to like the key elements of RPG games and I doubt that you will find one that you do like because of this.
This thread is doomed to end in a lock resulting from cyclic and pointless argument.
Just go play some Sega Genesis shmups. Start off with something in a Gley Lancer, Gaiares or Thunder Force 2-4.

The only reason I play video games is to express my energy, but I can't do that with the vast majority of games they have out anymore. Every good game is either sold only in Japan or was made a long time ago and nobody sells it anymore.

tired of RPGs being popular why do you even care about a genre's popularity anyway

because it gets tiring when nobody agrees with you about anything. Most people don't understand my feelings because they never expirience liking things everybody else doesn't like and not liking things everyone else like.
Think about this: lets say you love Jesus, but everyone else in the world loves Satan, how would you feel?

You just lost the topic there. We never called you satanic, even if we might've been thinking it.
If you like genres other than RPGs, look for a community that is centered around a different genre of games, such as the FPS, the RTS, or the casual game. You won't find the entire membership of a Halo forum, for example, telling you "RPG is numberwang."

Play oblivion the elder scrolls.
It's a rpg where they voice act all the interactions so you don't have to read, and all the fighting is first person realtime hack and slash.
But your computer might be too slow.

It must be awful to live in a world where everyone is a sheep but you. I wish I could understand, but I'm too busy watching MTV.
