Hey everybody! I don't know why but I keep thinking last few days about what cartoons
had those moral endings. You know like this
muscle-packed superhero who is punching the hell out of the (most often
not so muscle packed) evil guys and then telling us that you should
better solve your problems with others verbally than kicking them
between the legs (hey I've been one of the smaller guys at school so I
had to use some mean tricks now and then ok?).
Do you know which cartoons had such moral ends?

Remember Superfriends back in the days? They always had that kind of stuff.

A more recent show is Teen Titans.

Lol, I think a lot of cartoons have that and a lot of them are actually pretty funny because they practically tell you the moral they were trying to show and sometimes it sounds corny.

ugh.. Yu-Gi-Oh.
it's all about friends and believing in yourself and blah blah..I've tried a number times to count how often the say "friend" or "frienship" in an episode, but I always turn off the tv like 10 minutes after the show starts lol

I hate yugioh, I Really hated super friends (justice league is better though) and the teen titans show sucks compared to the comics, It's too happy.
I really don't understand why they have the morals, i find it agrivating.

The morals are supposed to work like those subliminal messages (in which I don't believe btw). They tell kids to do things without them realizing that it's happening. THey just sit there, watch their shows and supposedly become better people.

Pokemon had heaps of that moral crap. And it's so obvious if you're over 5 years old. Not saying that I watched Pokemon or anything...>> << >>
The Simpsons used to have morals at the end of each episode but they don't anymore. Stopped like, in season eight. South Park does, but it's funny sh*t Stan says "See, I learned something today..." hehehe.
Captain Planet did as well but it was always environmental. :| or about friendship. I liked the monkey!

Was just going to say Captain Planet aswell! Haha, I loved the anti pollution/environmental segments at the end of each episode entirely devoted to a 'moral message.'
I've also caught repeats of Super Friends, and every episode I've seen has Super Sucked. Especially those purple twins with their monkey.
I also just watched a dvd of the original X-Men tv show of the early/mid nineties. Awesome stuff, but I noticed a particularly Christian theme to a story involving Wolverine and Nightcrawler. The religious and godly references shocked me at first, because I wasnt used to it in cartoons. But I came round to it and found it gave a much more realistic spin to the story. Its also always good to see Gambit saying things like 'You dont believe in that god garbage, do you?'

Superfriends... I'm afraid there's ringing a bell...
Yeah Simpsons and southpark of course. But that's surely their joking on those moral cartoons.
Yes YES Captain Planet! Fire! Earth! Water! Air! LOVE! Love? Who are
you btw. What's that love thing. You want Captain Planet to be the
super softy or what?
But the ecological messages where one of the best of those.
The X-Men cartoon was one of my favourites cartoons ever! God I loved
this. Gambit is simply super cool! There's some special story about
night crawler btw. I think there are some interviews with the maker of
nightcrawler on the X-Men 2 DVD.

ThunderCats and He-Man used to do it too. In fact the recent He-Man remake has it sometimes too.

Niss: The original X-Men cartoon is THE best in the world! I love it. 'Gambit gonna teach you a lesson you ain't not never gonna forgit!' Hehe. Both Gambit and Beast are going to be in X-Men3 as well, can't wait!
They only released two DVD packs of the show in Australia, and both of them were thematically based on Wolverine. Which was a shame, because the stories were much broader then that one character.
I really hate how that now because of the new (crappier) show, they've shunned the previous one into the background- like a black sheep in the family. I should be happy with what I have though, and I've been pretty satisfied with the movies so far. I also suppose that I dont really have much reason to treat the show like gospel, because I was never into the comics (where it all began) in the first place.
I just hope that eventually the whole thing will be available!

So-Lou: Damn now that explains the strange results when I tried this...
iSTVAN: Oh yes yes I can't wait for X-Men 3 too. Hmm... but I could try
to find the old cartoon and watch it again... and the comics weren't
bad either... as far as I remember that is.
Wolverine: Oh my - of course He-man. How could I've forgotten this one.
My cousin and I used to watch this when we were young. Really young...

Ya, I'm also looking forward to the release of X-men 3.
Ahh, He-man, where to start. First, the title is He-man, that is just a stupid title. Do they have a He-Women? That would be weird, but not surprising. After all, they do have Spider-Girl, and She-Hulk.
I hated captian planet. and how is your heart, or summoning fire beneficial to the environment. Another thing I hate about that show is the stupid ending thing where they say stuff like "Save a tree, use a sponge." That isn't really saving a tree. It's not like the lumber-jacks are going to know and say "Hey, that kid used a sponge, that's one less tree to cut down."I hate that show.

He-Man and She-Ra. I remember that in one episde of He-Man they actually taught kids how to lift heavy weights!
"Keep your back straight and use your legs!" (or something like that)
O_o'
I think Smurfs and Snorks had morals too.
(Captain Planet was cool hah)

Yeah, but so were looney tunes, and they're still fun to watch. Same with Ren and Stimpy, and I'd like to see you to find a moral in that show! There's a pretty cool article I remember reading about Ren and Stimpy http://victorian.fortunecity.com/russell/105/partone.htm - here . Even if youre not a fan of the show, it is still interesting for anyone who digs animation.

GI Joe used to take time out at the end of the show to teach kids a lesson, but the lesson didn't have anything to do with the episode. It would have stuff like "eat an apple instead of a candybar" and "don't pick up downed electric wires". Weird.
Oooh, X-men 3 is gonna rock. According to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376994/fullcredits - IMDB Gambit is not in it or has not been cast yet at least. Heh, Kelsey Grammar is playing Beast.
|

Kelsey grammer is a guy's name?? I know (or claim to know) that gambit is in it because in the part with mystique posing as deathstrike in her office, she stops for a second on the name Remy. At least i think so. Gambit is my favorite also, along with nightcrawler and psylocke. I don't really like wolverine (no offense to Wolverine the user...) or rouge.

Yeah, Sedge, I've read several articles specifying Gambit's role in the film. Although I havent seen any casting news. Theres also a bunch of other mutant characters added to this next one, the IMDB is sure to have that stuff covered.
|

IMDB isn't always the latest news, but it's usually pretty up on things. Well, it'll be a cool movie whether Gambit is present or not. Juggernaut, Angel and Beast are three really great additions to the already stellar cast.

They say that http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001763/ - Nick Stahl may be playing Angel which, I think, would've been a better choice than this virtually unknown, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004936/ - Ben Foster

He sort of looks the part in some photos, but then there are so many different comic interpretations of the character, and none are too specific. So...EVEN I COULD PLAY THE PART!

He also played...oh god, why can't I remember his name? The yellow guy, in Sin City...
and I hope they find a sexy unknown for Gambit. Unknowns are generally
better for this sort of thing, I think, since you're not sitting there
the whole movie going "oh look! it's halle berry doing Storm!"
|
Posted By: iSTVAN
Date Posted: 17 August 2005 at 5:42am
The thing I hate most about Halle Berry is that she's played two established super characters in two recent movies. Really bugs me. What if Storm ever had a head to head clash with Catwoman?? Aargh. It drives me insane.
Haven't seen Sin City.
And sexy unknown you say? Sure, I'll play Gambit aswell. I've got the unknown bit covered, and with the right makeup, who knows! You're right though, generally I hate it when the actor is bigger than the film, and I love how the X-men films have avoided that. I mean, Berry hardly even had a role in the film, and there as so many other great actors fighting for screen time.
|
Posted By: Wannahlakujuu

Um... since catwoman is in DC comics, and X-men is marvel, they wouldn't have a fight, and if they did it would make me mad
I do like how halle berry didn't dominate the movie, cause I really, really don't like her.
|
Posted By: So-lou
Date Posted: 17 August 2005 at 6:23am
Yellow Bastard, Blue. Yeah, he really creeped me out in that film. One line that made me cringe was when he said "She's a little old for me but I guess I'll have to make do with her..." or something - about Jessica Alba's nineteen year old character. (shudder)
I hate Halle Berry with a passion. She cannot act, is not THAT goodlooking and....and she RUINED x-men with her crappness. And Catwoman - don't even get me started. Nobody can replace Michelle Pfeiffer.

Ya, I liked Michelle Pfeiffer in the batman movie. I don't even think they should have made a catwoman movie, especially if they were going to use halle berry of all people. And they could have definately picked someone better to play storm
|

Halle Berry was just totally miscast. It doesn't help that she has some of the worst lines in both X-men 1 and 2 and her delivery just comes off as lazy.
X-men: "Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else"
X-men 2: "It's about to get very cold in here"
Laaaaaaaaaaame.
I used to wonder what Michelle Pfeiffer's appeal was until I saw her in White Oleander. Really great work.

Duuur. Marvel and DC have been known to collaborate on some comics together, and with recent joint movie franchises such as Alien VS Predator and Freddy VS Jason, then I'm sure that it can't be too unlikely to happen one day. I just can't understand how anyone in the comic industry could over look something like that, not too mention Berry herself for being typecast as a superhero.
I don't actually mind her, but I agree with Sedge that she had some pretty lame lines. I'd also like the character of Cyclops to be explored much more in any furture X-Men films, cos as it stands he just seems to be depicted as woodier than Woody-Woodpecker carved in wood. Hmm, perhaps that would make a good totem?
|

It would be good to make woody woodpecker pecking a wooden woody woodpecker totem.

I'm not a big buff on it, only seen one Alien film...I think it was Alien 3, where they were trapped on a ship. Got to study it in art, pretty cool actually. We looked at the people who made the alien puppets and makeup.
My point was, weirder things have happened. So its not totally unlikely that DC and Marvel would combine for a stella super hero film some day. Not that I think its a great idea.
