We ( 2 undergraduates of computer science) are writing a small retro multiplayer shooter with network support where you have asteroids-like controls and several weapons to fight each other. the levels are not tile-based but large image files with embedded level objects like a moving door or an automated turret. the setting is propaganda-style usa versus udssr (both playable) we are unsatisfied with our current design. you have therefore almost complete freedom. from 16color EGA style to 32bit RGBA (but your reason better be good for 32bit color), everything goes. you think your animation needs more frames? tell us!  parallax-scrolling background? its all yours!
