I am Cxplorer,28 years old I study multimedia in college and I live in Canada.
I'm really interested in making Pixel art.Since I grew up in the 8 bit,16 bit era.

What programs do you guys use to make those pixel art?

Most people who have Windows use plain old MS Paint, and they live and die by it. Others swear by Graphics Gale, and a lot of the most serious use ProMotion, which is worth it if you'll put forth the effort to learn it.

On Mac OS you have Photoshop and Pixen, and MTPaint is cross-platform (runs on Windows and Linux and probably OS X) and not shabby. I don't know too much about Linux and Mac OS pixelling apps, though, since I use Windows mostly.

Hiya.

MSpaint to draw everything. Giffy to set the transparencies. And unFreeze to put the individual frames together to make animations.

Also we have a thread for welcoming new members.

edit:

Um, what happened to the welcome thread?

I use GraphicsGale and Giffy for the transparency. They're both free, easy, and powerful pixelling software.
