Hello everyone, I am quite new to pixel art and find one of the things I struggle most with, is actually finishing my pieces. I lack patience when it comes to pixel art so I decided that I was going to start a piece and actually finish it.
Unfortunately it is not going well at all. But that's ok, I will probably learn a lot :D
Anyways, I have gone several different directions and cannot figure out where to go with it:
This first one was a basic outline, not really sure if I should still go with it or not, I might shape up the outline, I might not, not really sure.

This second one was a bit of coloring with the same outline( I think the top portion turned out ok actually):

I really have no idea how to make any of these look good.

I would comment on this but I don't know where you are going with this.
Please to help other members, post a reference picture so that we no what and how we can help you to get the best out of this piece.

You really need more straight lines here than the curvy ones. Also, you're pillowshading, which isn't usually advises. Visit the Resources section and look up the n00btorials.

You are also using too many colors and to little contrast.
