Hello everyone,
I have been a long time troller of the website and have finally gotten my own project off the ground, I have many hours of work to do on this project and would like and much pointers as the community can provide.

I havn't done pixel art since I was a wee thing when there really was no other type of computer based art.

so this is what I have so far, the colour palette is far from final and I am having a lot of struggles trying to remove the hard lines without loosing definition.

anyway here is my WIP's

This stuff is amazing. I love it. I do see your problems with hard outlines, especially on the windows. I wouldn't know how to fx that except maybe using a lighter color.

I think the shadows on the last 3, cast by the tower thing, is much too big. For the shadow to hit like that the sun would have to be hitting it from a pretty low angle, which would mean sunrise/sunset which I'd imagine would give a much different color scheme.

but short of that shadow they look pretty awesome.

Thanks guys, and you are right about the shadow being too big, I was already aware of that, also the colours are just a stand in until I get an overall pallete for the game.

here is a small update, also filled in the backfround so the white doesnt hurt peoples eyes.

Well the if you think about it roofs are made of tile, with the one with an orange-ish brown-ish roof it just looks like a rough roof, I think it would look better if you had a darker shade to outline the roof tiles.

I am really not happy about the roof, I will be coming back to them soon, I have tried several different techniques but cannot fine one that looks good, I think its going to be a case of trial and error, I have tired looking at other peoples work for hints on how they have done it but no one I have seen has done Houses at this scale.

Thanks Platinum, I'm not sure if this style can be converted from iso but I will give it a go, if you do find any others be sure to send them my way.

Yep the roofs don't look at like they are like rings, also shadow from red roof is very large.

The buildings are very nice, also I like colours, but untyl watch them think that you must try don't use so many noises. This is clear visible in first building. Tower and right part where have shadows are poor.

See gallery of Jal, he have some works with so nice small clear details and limited colours. This is one of them, but he make 5-6 before 2 years. Look at his gallery.

Just lovely work you got there.

I will advise that more noise does not always equal more detail. Often, less is more.

E: thx zi :)
