I'd say the 80s... Iron Maiden was at the top of their game as was Metallica. Also, some of the pop-ish stuff still sticks in my head like "The Safety Dance" and "She Blinded Me with Science". :)

'75 till '89 (with just one or two bands that are exceprions and a couple of albums released in '93) specifically: Punk (not punkrock though), Postpunk, Deathrock, Gothrock, New Wave, Darkwave, Coldwave (early eighties one, not the later one), some ethereal, (oldschool) industrial and dreampop. after '93 there are some songs of some bands i like and 2 bands of wich i can stand entire albums but generally my kind of music died with the eighties...
Eighties FTW!

I think the present decade is the better music decade since it is the mix of all decades. And it is better but not best as the olden days that was the 50s and 60s.Those are the best days for the classical music and lovely music we will never hear.
So I think the past 50s and 60s are the best decades for best music.

Hey you missed out Bob Dylan. More people listened to the Beatles but Dylan redefined music.
