I'm working on a browser-based tactical warfare game called Veralka
(www.veralka.com - site is currently closed to the public.) We're
seeking some pixel/2D artists to make faces/characters, some tiles for
the map, and possibly various other things including scenes and image
maps.
The project is a tactical warfare game involving managing various
cities, using them to spawn units, and using those units to capture
further cities and defeat your opponents, based in the users browser.
It is tick-based. This is all done on a massive 500x500 hand-made map.
Units are customizable, level up, and can be afflicted or aided by
status effects and items. Also features a questing system with dialog
trees, and a crafting system for a hopefully player-driven economy.
We have been in development for about six months and are hoping to go
into beta soon and launch a few months afterwards. The game is nearly
complete code-wise and just needs a bit of content creation done and
some extra art to spice up the site and things like that.
We don't have a budget so we cannot presently offer compensation,
though in the future I hope to compensate anyone involved on the
project. The game is going to be released free to play with optional
donation features. Hopefully this can be a great resume building
experience for someone since it will definitely go to launch, though we
don't know how popular it will be.
We currently have a small six-man team (including myself) working on
the project. I am project manager, second programmer, and lead game
designer
