I thought this was simple enough, until I saw DayDream's work was posted on PJ.
The definition given of pixel art on the submit page is:

"Any art you post should be PIXEL ART! Pixel art implies that each pixel is placed by hand (no filters, paintbrushes, gradient fills, etc)."

Since his work is approved yet it doesn't conform to the definition used (he uses paintbrush auto-aa and airbrush ), it seems likely that the definition is not exactly what you* mean.

*you being, whoever is involved in the approval process here.

What DO you really mean?

It seems that when a person makes a time saving tool that's fine, but the problem occurs when the tool is better than the artist. There is a point where the person is not required to put feeling into the art because the computer can do it for them.

He has like 0 posts!? If you mean his avatar it could be poor image conversion...like saving a bitmap tp a gif in paint. That causes many wrong colors and this looks about right for his avatar.

I agree 100%. I would like to see that rule changed to describe that.

Daydream has some images in his gallery. The reason I say he uses paintbrush and airbrush is because he said so himself.

I don't know who the heck you two are looking at but, the only DayDream I know of and have found on this site is at http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?id=878 - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?id=878

He has 3 images in his gallery and he says nothing whatsoever about using an airbrush. Everything in his gallery IS pixelart so please be careful in the future of whom you accuse.

As for "clarification" of what pixel art is, I really don't see the need to expand on it. If you don't know what pixel art is yourself, you really don't belong to this site to begin with.
