Hey guys,

I am considering designing a Graphics Gale like program designed specifically for isometric art.. with grids, drag and drop blocks, shapes, etc.

Is there any interest for this program out there?

If there is I would like you guys to be able to comment on what features you want, what you don't want, etc.

Lemme know what you think!

Well you probally would need to be able to change the wall and floor colour. You would also should be able to add tables, chairs, etc... and be able to add people. Yeah stuff like that.

I guess I'd be interested, but I don't know really how you mean to make the app "iso" beyond having prebuilt grids and objects.

You can also have a feature where people can import their own objects into a library and then drag them onto the canvas. (Library Feature) :P

make shore u can define the size of the grid,
chose to have a stroke for your image or objects (ie black or white outline, or other colour) and be able to chose weather its on the inside outside or center like you can on photoshop.
the libary, so u can import objects and even floor tiles to it.
an extra feature so u can design objects with a pencil tool fill tool line tool select tool.
prebuilt in shapes such as circles isometric circles cos they can be hard or some people ect ect..
be able to export the image....

and thats everything i can realy think of :?

oh 1 more if u can animation frame option!

some of that might be too hard to do but it should be possible and there are some ideas

As an isometric artist by heart (well, most of the art I do is isometric because it's so much easier) all I want and need is plain MSPaint with an isometric line feature. That is, a two-up-one-right line tool and of course a one-up-two-right as well. It would be nice if you could have a regular locked line when pressing shift, and an iso locked line when pressing ctrl.

I really would never use a program like that.  I have always been for the traditional methods...  I do my pixel art in Paint, I take my art pictures with 35mm film, and I only use floppies (That one was a joke )

And besides, do you know what you would be facingtrying to make an isometric grid for a program like this, with drag and drop blocks and such?  I have attempted it, 8 months later, I still am...  But I'm not that good of a programmer, either.

I know exactly what I would want in such a program.

Most programs do not have a smart resize that can do the following- allow the user to interpret color borders from pixels as a shape such as an arc or a line, and keep that shape when stretching or resizing.  This type of feature would ROCK MY SOCKS.
