Im a begginer in pixel art and i really want to draw some great pixel art :D like the ones on theis website. Above this is my cartoon city. How may i improve this till its good enough to be on the main site?
 I took the advive. i made the saturation lower , made the sign and windows smaller.
Problems: I am having trouble making the skinny legs for the sign.
I tried using the isometric circle tutorial but it did not work out very well cause the ice cream store is a rectangular prism.
Got any solutions?
i suck real bad at making trees.
this is the best i have ever made

Good effort so far. I'd rework the 'rain' sign so its more in scale. The legs are somewhat too big and fat. Right now the biggest problem it has is the circle of the ice cream which is not in isometric perspective. That kind of circle should be twice the width of the height. So if the width is 50 pixels, it would be 25px high. Some windows are way out of scale too. The windows by the doors of both buildings are just to big. After that kind of stuff is corrected you can add cars and maybe people and a helicopter on the roof, tress, etc. ------------- |

I'd say drop the saturation of the orange, blue, and pink. They're very "BOOM!" right now. Keep the saturation of the blue below the orange. Right now, since blue pops out on orange, it kinda' looks like the big wrap-around window up top is popping out of the building. Cool effect, but not aesthetically pleasing in the piece. D: But, for a beginner, this is very nice! :D |
