I'm just wondering why transparency is counted as a color. Never quite understood that.

I mean, transparency IS the lack of color.

Just wondering~

Yes, but you must first have a color to declare it null and void. Transparent is a wildcard color, it's a chameleon color, but it's still there. Even nothing is something in the grand scheme of things.

Hope you enjoyed your 'if a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound' moment. XD

Haha, then I know this is going to sound so dumb:

If we wanted to save colors for a challenge piece, could we use transparency over the gallery's background color to create a part of the palette?

Like, if we need a gray so close to the gallery one, we just make the pieces where we need it transparent and let the gallery do it's work? :P

If not for the fact that people are able to change their themes. (and thus, the background color).

And the fact that you wouldn't be saving anything since transparency IS considered a color.

Well, he would already be using transparency in the background, so lets say he has 13 colors, counting transparency, and uses transparency in the part where the color matches the bg color, he is still using 13 colors instead of 14.

Or something like that.

well other then that it's a brilliant idea, i mean, if you couldn't do that, and you'd be (i think) in need of a light blue, that'd be THE solution, IF you already have transparent parts in your piece.

But i do think challenges usually state stuff like,
16 colors+transparency.
