Hello, artists!  I am a software developer of over a decade.  I have started a new project recently which can be previewed in an alpha state at http://www.agonici.com/ - http://www.cindervale.com/   This weekend marks the first two weeks from inception to playable (somewhat).  The project is a browser based MMO which does not use any plugins.  It runs cross browser from IE7, IE8, FF, Opera, Safari, Chrome, etc. on pretty much everything.  Hell, it even runs on the iPhone and Blackberry.

I am in need of some art, as you would imagine.  I am not able to disclose the budget publicly, but I can assure you it is at least 4 digits.  Payment can be arranged through Paypal or other means.  Samples of your work are required during negotiations.  This project requires full redistribution and derivative works rights for all art assets (non-negotiable).  Alpha transparency where applicable is preferred.  All images should be in PNG format.

The story and game mechanics are traditional and fantasy based.  The project targets the casual audience.  Elements of the original Zelda, early Final Fantasy ( 1 - 5 ), and Diablo II form the basis for what this project is about.  The game has an extremely low barrier to entry for new players since it runs on pretty much anything with an Internet connection and a browser.

This section will make more sense if you have seen the game.  Regardless, the following art assets are currently needed:
    - 16x16 - 1x - A single Crown Icon for party leader identification.
    - 48x48 - 100x - Tiles for the map. The entire tileset for the maps ( which you currently see in the game ) is placeholder art. The tiles should be square and from a top down perspective. Examples include the original Legend of Zelda and the earliest Final Fantasy games.
    - 34x34 - 75x - Item icons. We are currently using icons made by Henrique Lazarini ( aka Ails ) found here on Pixel Joint which will set the style going forward. More specifically, we need the following:
          * Pants
          * Shoes
          * Many more weapons
          * Many more types of armor
    - 34x34 - 30x - Buff icons. These are beneficial spells which last for a specified duration on a player.
    - 48x48 - 100x - Quest NPCs. For now, we only need these to be front facing.
    - 48x48 - 40x - Enemy NPCs. For now, we only need these to be front facing.
    - 430x175 - 100x - NPC closeup images. These can be line art or cell shaded. These will be used on the NPC tab where a player interacts with a NPC.
