I've translated Fil Razorback's excellent Les Forges pixel art tutorials into English and posted them on my website:

Perhaps you can add http://code.google.com/p/grafx2/ - GrafX2 to your translator's note for PA software. It's GPL and very cross-platform.
Any plans to translate the text in the images?

I saw there is another part where animations are discussed but is not translated. Maybe someone registered in open game art can do the translation:
