Hello everyone,

We at Shilocity.net are in search of a talented pixel artist to make some pixel art (obvious?) for us. The project is sort of private but information will be released to an extent so that sufficient art can be created. I can tell you that we'll be requesting tiles and characters (tiles 32x32, characters 32x32 or 32x64, undecided) and that they will be fantasy/medieval based. Descriptions for each tile requested will be provided to ease the job.

We are offering payment of up to $0.25 USD depending on the quality, speed and originality of the work produced. We are very lenient and extremely accepting and nice (we won't bite), so don't feel intimidated. We do have a deadline (unfortunately), but it's a while in the future, so sufficient time should be available to complete the art.

The number of tiles that will be requested is currently not known, but it will probably be on an "as-needed" basis with some sort of scheduled payment (monthly or weekly?).

Please have some of your previous work ready to show us, whether it's a resume or a few tiles, have something. I look forward to your replies! =)

You can contact me by using the below means:
AIM: ShilocityDOTnet
MSN: inkybro AT gmail DOT com(<-- protecting from spam (hopefully))
Email: Same as above

EDIT: Just saw that guidelines post, as I was in a rush to post (4:30am and tired). If I overlooked something in the post I'm very sorry and I'd be glad to answer any questions anyone has, so feel free to comment me. If you'd like more information on the game I'm willing to let you play what we have so far, as long as you're extremely interested in the job.

25 cents, no offence but isn't that a bit miserly?

Being students and hobbyist programmers, it's rather hard to pay professional fees for art. 25 cents isn't bad, either. We're not asking for your soul, just a tile every now and then (okay, more like a couple a day for a couple weeks and THEN a tile every now and then, but still). Anyway, I'm sorry we can't pay more.

Hi, im Inkybro's partner at shilocity.net, i'll clarify that we are offering 25 cents per TILE (which is roughly 1/8th of a cent USD per pixel). I had the assumption that pro's were being paid similar, but as i'm no pixelart master, i'd except payment offers.

In the long run, a tileset of 100 tiles would get you $25 dollars. But im aware of hourly wages and after putting some thought into it, maybe we might be going about this alittle cheap, so....

I'm willing to pay around $100-200 for a complete pack of tilesets for this project. Once again, id be willing to pay up-to $200 for all your work. But obviously this all depends on your quality, originality, and modivation (also attitude and friendlyness might earn you a bonus.)

So, i'd say a sprite set and or tileset would give you roughly around $10-20.

If you qualify for this position, be expecting to get payed wealthy, i of all, know the meaning of work and im easily generous and will respect your opinions.

how big a "sprite set & a tile set"
btw that offer is much more appealing now

if your asking how big we want the tileset's to be...

we got no required tileset length. Just keep the tiles at 32 x 32 pixels for now. And as for the sprite set, you can use a basic 4 or 5 frame animation, but its all customizable. So whatever fits your style and work best. As for the Overall artwork style, as Inkybro stated, we are striving for Medieval/fantasy genre with realistic details. Anything for eyecandy. :)

btw, make sure to contact us or give us contact info so we can get more in detail and keep in touch.

As noted before, more information will be freely given to interested individuals upon request. Just contact me or Shilo and ask for a demo of the game and whatever else you need.

EDIT: The game is not a download, so you should be able to run it as long as you use IE (support of the game will extend to other browsers very soon).

So... no one is interesting in earning up to $200 and be involved in a game which could be a revolution in gaming (can't get into details unless your willing to help). I mean, common. it involves:

- Fun
- Relaxing
- and $ x200

What more do i have to say?

Hmmm. Im heavily involved in my school studies at the moment, but this Christmas holidays I may be seeking some part time pixelling work. Depending on the exact date of your dead line I may or may not be useful to you.

I'm pretty experienced in pixel art and spritework, as awell as animating, however tilework is an area that I've never quite ventured into- although I should like to some time soon! My pixel joint gallery is a good example of my work if you're seeking a http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/profile.asp?id=279 - reference .

I think the pricing is reasonable considering you're seeking non-professionals. You also seem like very nice people and I can't really understand why you've recieved such a lack of interest.

I can only assume that lack of experience and the hobby nature of this site means people would rather avoid the pressure of working for good money. By all means I encourage you to continue to extend your hand to the pixel community. Try making your request at http://www.pixel-arts.org/pixelopolis/ - Pixelopolis  if you havent already and check the Pixel Joint links for other pixel community websites.

Good luck!
