i am making a series of pixel arts called the creeps. teh creeps will be one hudred different creepy figures. here is the wip for the first one. someone please help me with the beam im really bad at doingenergy blasts.

you might want to fade the green beam into the gray with some more colors(not the dithering-ish technique you're using now) and connect it to the part it's coming out off, after you've done that try to add some lighting to the scene to make it look like the beam gives off light, oversaturating the scene might help illustrate the power of the beam

try making some grungy lab, mostly grey with some rivets and rust, shouldn't be too hard...

EDIT:it's easier to create a separate bg and then add the figure in it, drawing the bg around the creep is harder, and it won't look as good
