I am looking for some advice on how to improve the form and color of the animals.

Looking forward to feedback, thanks!

These are the reference pictures.

coyote's are slender and elongated. yours is a bit squidged. the wolfs head is too large or his body too small, and he could use a bit more neck.

good luck!

I made some changes based on the feedback given. Additional suggestions?

For a small peice it's hard to get a lot of detail, but rear legs of the wolf could use more detail and shading.  And maybe more of a point on the tip of the tail.
The hair is going to be hard.  You might need another color or 2 for that.
Nice though.  I like these.

Thanks for the advice!

I implemented the suggestions given.

Additionally, I adjusted the wolf's back legs, lowered the coyote's head and shortened the coyote's muzzle.

To make the animals more hairy, I added a lighter color to the outline.
Does it help?

Thanks!

you could try taking out the darkest brown in the wolf as its not very noticable (atleast not at 1x) and then use the extra color for a lighter brown which you could use for AA on the outline around the light fur and perhaps for shading to, which would like sort of like this:

just if you want the outline a little more solid.
