I created a sprite template not long ago that I called Chai (inspired by Greenraven's Breeze and Panda's works). I really am please with the way the template itself turned out. I have a sample of a character made with it below that I wish to use in an RPG game, but I'm a bit frustrated with it. It seems somehow that there is something missing that is causing sort of a flat appearance. I want to keep the details simple (about a hundred more of these to design), but I want the shading and highlighting to look correct as well. I also need to keep a contrast so that the sprite stands out from the background. The head and hair isn't so bad that I can see, it's the body. Any suggestions? Possibly with an edit or two?
