I think, stupid people are everywhere in the world, just like smart people are... not just in one place as they tried to say so.
haha I found another one:

The map thing is hilarious... 'never realized NK was so big' :D OK, I just wonder how representative is that sample of US population. They would just keep the funniest in the film, right?
Reminds me of an artist whose name I forgot, who had asked (US) people to draw a map of the US from memory and assembled them on a single piece. There was everything from blobs to circles to squares to good likenesses (a few).
The part with France also recalls these t-shirts they had in 2003: 'Iraq first, then France'. Good ol'times.

The numbers say people in the USA are averagely less smart than in europe. Brightest groups of people live in east Asia: South korea and Japan.
However, I assume that those people filmed in the right states, on the right streets. I think it matters a lot on which street you are asking people, and by the looks of people you can often already tell what kind of answers they will give. The ones that gave right answers have been excluded from the documentary.

People who were not able to make a living in Europe had most likely an averagely lower IQ. Thus they would make their way to the country where was promised the world was good.
At last, this documentary is hardly about intelligence. It is about knowledge and general development of people. Education level differs a lot per country and per state and even per city, but there is hardly a way to measure that correctly. However, I do personally believe that generally American people are less widely developed than people here from the Netherlands. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it allows you to focus more on one topic. But if you pick the less developed people out of that group, you might be able to expect the answers like in the documentary.
Too bad it happens here too, more and more. People nowadays get overloaded by tv and stuff, things that happened earlier on in America too, and opinions are made by the commerce, not the people themselves. That is shown in the documentary in the parts where they ask about war.

The same. They changed the names on the map and put a big tag saying Iraq or France on Australia
