I'm sure several of you saw my "Rendezvous Delano" (Metroid-based  Nintendo DS homebrew vertical scrolling shooter) topic in the Job Offering forum a while back. (Website: http://dpmm.110mb.com/rd - http://dpmm.110mb.com/rd )

On top of that, you've probably seen a good portion of what Jalonso has made for the game, as he's posted much of it in the gallery. But I'm pretty sure you haven't seen the menus yet, as well as a few other things.

(Some of his sprites are still not seen in-game, but I'm working on it.)

Here's the download:

More of Jalonso's stuff that I'm pretty sure you can't find in the game at the moment:

And personally, I went back to making the little SFX stuff after he made all this. But I think I got better in some respects just looking at his work.

This is much better than I had expected!
I have some complaints about the gameplay (and the music -_-), and not everything works completely yet, but this looks very serious and promising!
Great work DeProgrammer!

I'll hear your complaints about the gameplay, but I won't have anyone ragging on my placeholder music that I made myself! (I kinda got a composer recently, but he hasn't sent me any music yet. And lucky for you, you can turn off the music with the new volume slider!)

Thanks. =D

I already saw most of these on jal's site.

But looking awesome!

Enemy bullets go way to fast, and you can't control the ship properly because when you go from left to right you have to slow down first, and then start accelerating to the other side. This is realistic, but annoying, and make sure that you can not make a high speed reaction game of it. It becomes a game where you have to plan your actions.
And that is impossible with the speed of the bullets of the enemy again!

I don't feel that the enemy bullets are too fast at all--if anything, I'd think they're too slow. This is not Bullet Hell. There are not very many bullets on-screen at a time, and all have easily predictable movement.

I could see the acceleration/deceleration thing, but I thought that's how it worked in most games anyway (I studied the RAM of a GBA game while playing around with it in slow-mo)...although they tend to have lower top speeds and possibly higher acceleration. I'll mess around with it.

Nice, if it's as good as it looks I'll put it on my flashcart.

i like how the explosions look, they are very good. so does the space background, but i'm not a fan of those ships. however i'm sure when its finished gameplay will make up for what i don't like.
