I've been trying to redo my entry for the http://pixeljoint.com/pixels/challenge_item.asp?id=1037 - Food Warriors challege . I consider the head more or less finished now; but the body is a bit sloppy at the moment, I know. Anyway, gimme ya harshest anatomy critz. | I think if you moved the (entire) leg on our left in 2 or 3 pixels to the right it'd look much better, right now his crotch is a bit wide. arms seem a bit short/stubby/forearm on left a bit skinny. it seems the arms are simplified into upper arm/lower arm, but if more attention were paid to how the muscles were truly at/behaving they'd look much better (also includes shoulders/traps). The chest feels like it should be a tiny bit less head-on and a tad more 3/4ths. |

I think the colors are too similar all over, it looks sort of like a bronze statue. I did this edit to add more colors, and then noticed you were limited to only 10 colors though but I still think you could get something similar in 10 colors. |

@Cure, I tried fixing the anatomy problems, I feel that the anatomy is still off though. @R1k - I have changed the colours around. I have also tried to make his head more pineapply, although I'm still having trouble getting the pineapple texture to be more apparent. ------------- |

I tried something with just altering the head colors. Maybe it would make it stand out as more of a pineapple head. I also altered the head by a pixel or 2 and made the leaf height a pixel taller too. And just a touch more highlights on the leaves and a touch more texture on the head.
This thing is great though.. ha ha

Thanks dpixel, that was extremely helpful. I was trying to avoid dithering things too much on his face, but what you've done actually works. I'm still trying to stick with 8 colours though (even though the original challenge allows for up to 10). I edited the head, and then I though that perhaps I should make the rest of his body more pineapplesque too...I'm not really sure if I'm heading in the right direction with this though. I think I may have entered dither-hell D:  ------------- |

GMO gone wild? There's something in your original version, despite its flaws, that makes him more likeable than the new one. Can't point what exactly. Maybe it's just that the new one recalls so many fighting sprites. The first newer one's pose (with wider open legs) looked better than the latest; TINC's point about the crotch might have been better addressed by redrawing the thighs' undersides. Pose and colors were more dynamic. Its main problem was uneven-ness of legs, which you fixed. I'd like to see your current color and shading skills applied to something like the original. =) |

It's tough to get the texture on a small size. I like your edit though. Very pimply, the way a pineapple should be. Another thing is he looks a little stubby. I think it's the thigh part of the legs that's a bit short. ------------- |

The pineapple crown does not seem to fit in as well as it could. Maybe it should face forward more like so  ------------- |

How about more of a boxing pose? Also I think the canvas would need to be a bit taller to fix some anatomy issues. Anyway I made some adjustments on the legs, his right foot and his left arm. All which need work, but you get the idea.

update:  Hm, I kinda like him a bit beefy, but I've taken up your pants suggestion. Looking back at my last version now, his pants were definitely way too colourful. What I've changed: *slightly less dither *colour changes *played around with our right arm *fixed colourful pants *Made him a bit taller I'll try playing around with shoe perspective in the next edit. ------------- |
