Hi , this is not a job offer , this is a friendly ask for help .I' v finished a game , and I need someone to make some gfx that the artist faild to create as I want....Needed Gfx doesn't exceed 10 ,and their size is small (40x40 pxl ) (20x20) ( 99x18 ) .

1) Artist will not get paid .

2) Artist will get credited as Aditional gfx/artist

3) Artist work will be copyrighted for both me and artist   ,artist can include them in protofolio, offer them, sell them ,eat them  ,whatever he wants to do with them, but no third party can claim the work's copyright or any other rights....

Any one want to help? You can PM or reply. Thanks for understanding.

Uh that no credit thing will absolutly kill your offer. Why would you not credit them? I can understand no pay but why no credit?

I agree to credit the artist like this :

Main artist : the name of artist who made gfx for this game .

Additional artist : the name of artist who's gonna create those 10 needed gfx.

Sounds cool?

Hmm...? anyone interested ? This is the best way to get credited (as additional artist) on a mobile phone game,by just fixing 10-15 Images.Anyone?

I'd like to attempt these, could you post more details?
EDIT: I mean, as in image details.

Will that be a legal copyright filed with the US Copyright Office, or are we talking about an "implied" copyright?

I've already created one image/animation and I've e-mailed it to you but I'd like to get more details about your business/game before I do anything else. :/

I didn't edit your image, mine was from scratch so at the moment it's still mine since I haven't claimed you could use it yet either.  Isn't that correct?
I don't mean to be harsh but there are too many anonymous offers on these forums.

It's very close to a Wizrobe (from Zelda) and Black Mage (from the Final Fantasy series) anyway.

The one I've sent you wasn't final anyway, I have an improved version done as well.

Thanks for sending stuff...I think you have good skills, but the quality of your work isn't what I'm looking for,it's the same to what main artist made .

Thanks anyway .

lmao, I love the way you suddenly turn like that because I said I didn't like the way your publisher doesn't exist yet.
Your "artist" used over 16 colours for some flat blue sh*t.

I'll feel free to post my work here now since you have no ownership over it; if you claim otherwise please contact Nintendo or Square Enix first.
EDIT:
Uh yeah, you were sort beaten to the punch there:

[Please note I googled this image AFTER I created mine, the resemblance (including the colour, which I changed from the original blue!) was coincidental for myself but the original I was shown is quite obviously just a rip-off]
this game will be published by an US publisher who'll start publishing business at the end of this years

Oh yeah, that sounds solid. You've turned on me because I didn't like the sound of that, don't imply otherwise. You know I chose to end this myself.

For other members: I wouldn't suggest getting involved in this, you can see how quickly he turns. This "quality" attack is absolute bullsh*t.

Googling his e-mail address provides:
http://forum.java.sun.com/profile.jspa?userID=536010
I don't think he knows what even he is doing.

Oh and for those wondering, here's the original he showed me:

Here's mine:

He reacted like this because I said I didn't like the fact that his publisher didn't exist yet, that's all.
I would not suggest making anything for him or getting involved, remember he even said he wouldn't give credit originally. All he is looking for is free material so he can earn money for himself.

I don't know how many offers follow this trend, I didn't mind this one since it was a relatively small request, 10 sprites. I'm still pissed off.
This is a suggestion to other people as well; people have warned against offers like these.
I didn't mind this, as long as I got credit. I've realised, I'd be doing more work than his original "artist" based on his current work. I bet there weren't even many more than 10 sprites, I don't know what the other 9 were or even what size they were.
This offer wasn't to get his game's images completed, this was a request to finish the whole thing. Are we expected to believe that only 10 of them look so bogstandard that they must be redone but the rest are fine? I don't think so.
This is just one of the people who have jumped upon this mobile market. They believe that some average coding ( http://forum.java.sun.com/profile.jspa?userID=536010 - which apparently he can't do without help! ) along with a few images will earn them some money but the fatal flaw is, they can't do it on their own. They need outside help who they'd do anything but pay.
Why? Because that would mean cutting into their profit which is what projects like these are all about. They don't care about other people, there's no development team, it's just themselves.
I nearly fell into this trap; I believed for some reason that this guy was different, that he was some new coder ready to work his way into the development market but no, he's just one of hundreds (thousands?) believing that some knowledge of coding will allow them to earn money like so many others in a seemingly easily-exploited market. As long as they find someone to do other work for them, they think they can earn money. For all I know, this publisher that doesn't exist will, ironically, exploit him but I'd be fine with that because he will have already cheated anyone that helped him.
He didn't even want to credit whoever did help him, he begrudgingly changed this. Did he want to make it look impressive, being one of a few names associated with a hopefully professional-looking game? I believe this is true.
Riva posted in the last thread like this, saying that it wasn't true that this was the only way to get work published and for some reason, I chose to ignore this, for reasons I can't remember. I thought this was some easy way to get work published but obviously it's not. Listen to people such as Riva who have obvious experience in situations such as these. Don't fall for stuff like this.

Well thanks a lot for the free pub ! You are wondering why I turned (as you say) , I'll tell you why :You are not professional at all ! You didn't send me the one you show here, you sent me some scratch ,I kept suggesting to do better work but you showed me you'r not serious at all (...) . And other thing : There is an online -demo of this game for people who want to try it , I just have to fix some gfx and add some features to make it ready to be published...Glad that I didn't send you the link and the complete list of gfx as you requested .

Thanks for the free pub.

The irony is, you've had to ask for help several times on some coding forum and you didn't act maturely at all; some of your posts are just emoticons for example.
What I showed you was what I had done at the time and you know that.

Well...What matters is the game is here , ready to be published once some gfx and some features done . I believe in giving beginner artist an oportunity to get credited , since they will ease the task for me ... It's fine if no one want to fix them,as I have good pixel drawing skills and enought time to do it by myself and get what exactly I need without having a headache trying to connect with pissed-off artist...After all , this topic is untitiled "Asking for help" .

Thanks anyway & Bye.

I don't understand a few things here, and I'd like to point them out to you so that in the future you won't get beat down so much.

1)  If you already have the talent to do the graphics yourself, then why bother with another artist?  This thread shouldn't even exist, in my opinion, especially concidering where it ended up (you doing the art).

2)  You came off as very unprofesional in both your level of maturity and understanding of the inustry, and yet you've pointed the unprofesional finger at Vidd.

3)  You don't seem to realize that this is more of a hobbyist forum than anything, and conscpriting the time and talent of a profesional depends on a few things that weren't actually offered/present.  Those things would mainly be due compensation, the likely hood of the project getting published, and the over-all profesional attitude of the client (you).

In the future, I wouldn't turn down any help if I were you.  Seriously, I wouldn't.  If someone's willing to do artwork for free, and it's obviously better than the previous artwork, heck, I'd go for it in a heart beat.

Once again, this reply was mostly meant for constructive purposes and I didn't intend to offend you or anyone else in any way.  Good luck with your project.  We've all got to start some where.

That 's what Vidd and you are thinking . The game engine is 90% completed, graphics are good too, except some ones .
