I expected something a little more advanced on your part, Jeremy. Why not add some more animals in there, like a gradient from neck feathers to a horse's mane? The quality is great, but the concept is just far too basic compared to your skill level. |

I already got mine done, didn't even think about posting WIPs in here. Also a gradient would be difficult considering the max colors allowed is 12. |

ok... I know that this is not the best, but it is something to start with; here's my oxagon... Still working on it... need some comments and suggestions on the scales that probably I'm going to adjust somehow... The hexagonal body would be decorated with some flower printings. In the end I think I'm going to add a border with some kind of chinese writings...  @ Jeremy: does your beast have a rabbit ear? |

First weekly challenge in a while Monkey upper body, Horse face, Rooster lower body. Morseter? I might replace the hands completely and am not sure about the rooster tail. Also colours are annoying me. 11 colours in use (not including placeholder green and yellow) EDIT:

About half-hour put into the sketch with 10 colors so far. Gotta get off lunch and go back to work though :P Horse (head), rabbit (ears/teeth), monkey ("paws"), tiger (body) so far. Initially I wanted a dog body but it ended up just looking like a tiger, especially after the stripes and color were piled on, so I'm considering adding a hydrant for it to pee on. But I suck with palettes as it is without working in something like that. We'll see though. Crits appreciated, I'll likely have to tweak the palette a bit as I start to render it once I'm happy with the forms. |

Jeremy, I hope you don't hate this, but it looks like the fire your creature is blowing is artificially bent up so as not to cover the body. I also hope you can retain the amazing quality of your first WIP, which popped so strikingly - it looks like a richly painted concept art such as http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/robotics/battlerobot.jpg - Niklas Jansson makes. |

@Jeremy - I agree with Ninja about the fire and the strikingness about the first WIP. Maybe it's the contrast level. I'm not sure though. Great piece though. @kevink - Very dynamic pose. Although I think the horse legs in the back take away from that somewhat. I probably wrong though. @Adam - Holy Crap! lol ------------- |
