Fuck off... that was valid criticism. Several aspects of the palette use here simply don't make much sense.
Igonore Carnivac, he had his retinas burned out by the CPC palette a long time ago! 
I like the tile work but not the palette (or it's use of it in particular places such as the skeleton character where that blue seems really odd, or the green AA in the moon which doesn't work at all).
My most favorite part; besides the animation, is the color choices on the blur of the moon.
(well I like "plum" and brown together anyway)
Looks nice, I hope you'll get it done soon. I like metroidvanias.
Dude this is insane! I don't even know what kind of game it's going to be but I would play it just for the art :) the animations rock as well, love the waterfall and fish. When the project completed definitely let me know ;)

the animation on some of those sprites could use a little more movement in my opinion, but I think the overall style is brilliant. !!!

I saw the screenshots over at TIGSource forums and thought it looked great, and to then find out that it was a game, pretty damn cool. Love that bat animation.

I really love this, the tiny knight guy looks a lot like a mini version of 7even's knight from Rogue Legacy.
