I've built a tool that allows you to browse the Pixel Joint gallery by searching for colors. It's online and free, go play with it!

Here is also a video demonstration of how you might use it.

I hope you like it!

Special thanks to all the many PJers who helped test this during the creation.

Our current collab Planet ISO has only 4 tiles to go out of 98. Be sure to grab those last tiles before it runs out. However its ending also heralds the new palette compo for the new collab, which is soooooon!

Your colleague says there is a ghost in the grocery store... the only thing we know is that it's tall, but what does it look like?

For this challenge, your entry will have to be done in tall pixels, which means each pixel is doubled only in height, and not in width (1x2 pixels rather than 1x1 pixels in size).

You'll be using Karina's "Grocery Store Ghost" palette from the Rejected Palettes list: https://sites.google.com/view/rejected-palettes/palette-list

Rejected Palettes is a database for palettes which have not been considered good or useful, yet have creative potential.

Canvas size: 100x200 export size (as displayed on PJ), so 100x100 tall pixels
Colours:
Transparency: No
Animation: Optional

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

Lospec (most known for their pixel art palettes database) has launched a kickstarter to fund an online gallery!

The gallery will let people share pixel art, chiptune, voxel art, low-poly, textmode and more! Our goal is to make the website as easy to use as possible, and display low-spec art without compression or scaling!

Learn more on our campaign page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/skeddles/lospec-gallery

Have you ever get to design your own Tileset? No? Now's your chance!
This week we want you to create an original tileset composed of at least 4 different tiles. Any type of tileset will do; rpg, platformer, shooter, your call!

What is a tile you ask? A tile is a picture (usually a square) that can be repeated on X and/or Y axis seamlessly. (And a tileset is a group of tiles of the same theme.)

Bonus Challenge: Create a game mockup using those tiles.

Canvas size: Max 16x16px per tile (your final piece's size is unrestricted)
Colours: Unrestricted.
Transparency: Optional
Animation: Optional.

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

The pantone colors of the year 2021 are Ultimate Grey and Illuminating (yellow).

You are challenged to use these great colors for a great design. A design of your own designer furniture! A chair, table, shelf, couch, or even home accessories such as a lamp or a plant pot are welcome.

Because I'm feeling generous, you get to use 2 more colors of your choice, and the 2 from pantone:

Bonus challenge: Make the furniture really impractical. What's better than a designer chair you can't sit on?

Canvas size: Max 160x160 (smaller is fine)
Colours: 4, or 5 if you use transparency. 2 colors from the palette, and 2 free choice.
Transparency: Optional
Animation: Optional.

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
