The title says it all... I'm guessing quite a few of these awful videogame titles are due to poor translations from Japanese to English.

Jack Thompson, the lawyer from Miami, Florida who has had many fiasco's with Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive over GTA, is being taken to court by Take Two Interactive for being In contempt.

If the court case goes against Jack Thompson he will most likely get fined, judicial admonishment or censure but there is a chance that the judge can rule him to a jail sentence if he is found guilty.

Lik-Sang, the popular import game dealer, has just announced that they are closing their doors.

http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3901

This is due to everybody's favorite company, Sony, suing the pants off of the small hardcore gamer favorite.  Sony did this by filing a lawsuit against Lik-Sang in every EU country and "Bleeding it to death". Sony later denied reports and claimed that it was to "protect the consumer"

In the face of one of the worst droughts in Australian history, international pressure for a world wide cut in greenhouse gas emissions and the threat of manbearpigs, Australia is preparing to the lead the way towards a cleaner future. Preparations for the initial phases of an environmentally friendly energy system will begin shortly.

Banning an Austrailian staple food in the US has got to be one of the most bizarre bans ever.  I have an Austrailian friend living here in the US who puts the funky, salty spread on bread instead of peanut butter and I'm sure she'll be crushed by this.

Has anyone seen my rights?

Bush has just signed a bill that may make habeus corpus obsolete.  This  means he will be able to detain, torture and punish citizens and non-citizens without a fair trial.

Check it out here.

"Do you long for the days of PC adventure games like Monkey Island and King's Quest, where pointing and clicking were all the skills you needed to enter worlds filled with knee-slapping comedy and brain-scratching puzzles?

I sure as hell do. But these days, it's a risky proposition to make a point-and-click adventure, which is why Telltale Games has decided on an episodic distribution model for Sam & Max, a hilarious comedy-adventure game."

Ah yes, bring back more of the terrific humorous adventures of LucasArts glorious past. More of the Wired article.

As an avid amusement park enthusiast (Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Magic Mountain and Universal Studios are all a short drive for me) I was somewhat suprised by the data collected at London's Dana Centre on the thrill ride experience...

"We've actually been getting some interesting data -- it appears the subjects' heart rates are highest in anticipation of riding. It drops during the actual ride."

Makes sense I suppose, but I know my heart jumps looking down the track on Goliath's first drop. How about you guys?

I've always enjoyed collecting quotes from different sources (TV, Movies, Books, etc) over the last decade or so and I finally got around to organizing them and putting them into a little system.  Any PJ member can now add quotes to the system, rate quotes and post comments about a quote.

Development will continue so the system will have some value for you guys... you'll soon be able to save quotes, search quotes, browse by subject and order quotes by rating, date, most commented on, etc.

Important Note:  No need to point out that quotes have nothing to do with pixel art you negative SOBs. It's just for "fun".

The upcoming cell phone game, Rockman.EXE: Legend of Network, now has it's very own website... er, or page. It provides for us the official logo of the game, as well as some new screenshots.

There is also some more info about the game itself:

Like the previous works, GBA-style battle is revived. Netto in the ADV style real world, from an overhead style view, operates Rockman in the network world. Progress through (8 + alpha?) scenarios in all. You can also play a short quest from the request BBS which returns.

Looks like Aquaman, as well as Searchman, will also be making a return, as can be seen from the screenshots.

What better to do with a mass of lego than recreate Michael Jackson's music video 'Thriller'.
A superb yet shakey video in minutes, which must have taken hours.
Ah, all the dead little lego pieces.

Many of you use Ensellitis Image Hosting, and since I took it public I have had mainly one request...  The ability to manage your images.  Guess what?  I heard you, and now you can.

Please keep in mind that this is all beta!  Here is a quick rundown of the features:
1.  You can log in and see what you have uploaded
2.  You can delete images you have uploaded
3.  You can choose to have images you upload be public in a gallery
4.  You can give your images descriptions.
5.  Uploaded images are given a encrypted hash at the beginning of the file name (to prevent clashes) but you choose the name that goes after that.
6.  Still 100% free!
7. More features coming soon

Keep in mind that the user area is still beta.  There are a few things that need repaired and styled.  But your user accounts and images will all function fine.

It's that time of year again guys 'n gals! Pixelween is back!

This year, we want you to pixel a never before seen battle between two movie villians. The rules are pretty much the same as last year but with a few changes such as no animations, no photo traces, etc.

So far, we don't have any prizes to give out except some point awards and respect, but I am definitely working on getting something going on.

Check out the official Pixelween 2006 page, read the rules and get started! Contest closes on October 29th so get pixelling now.

Howdy good people. A glitch yesterday caused past ratings to not display for some members.  The bug has been squashed so you do NOT need to go back and re-rate anything. That is all.

Stephen Wiltshire was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3.  He was mute and didn't relate with other people.  However, he is what is called an autistic savant.  It is like a deaf person can see sharper, or a blind person can hear things others can't.  Stephen is able to draw anything he sees, from memory, like the entire city of Rome.

His website has a large gallery of his work, and also some prints/originals for sale.  Some one needs to teach him how to pixel.
