In the past, we have ran this and this challenges but what about the monsters? This week, we want you to draw an RPG party that consists of exactly 4 sprites, depicting 4 different classical RPG monster species. These species should be chosen between these, albeit with whatever twists you might dream of:

  • The greenskin (orc, goblin, troll, ogre etc.)
  • The lizard (incl. dragonkins)
  • The beast (incl. werebeasts)
  • The elemental
  • The undead
  • The hellspawn (demon, beholder etc.)

You must separate sprites from eachother in your canvas using transparency, yet slight overlays for the sake of composition is permitted. Please clearly mention in your description which characters are in your party. And remember: you can make a ww2 band, a sci-fi team or 50s gangsters as well as classical high fantasy themed party.

Canvas Size - Max 200 x 200.
Colours - Max 32. Including transparency.
Transparency - Required.
Animation - No.

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

“A portrait is a painting in which there is something wrong with the mouth.”
  - E. Speicher

The noble King's archmage comes to you with a request you shouldn't decline or let alone talk about. A mystery that would weaken the throne and leave enough room for usurpers and warmongers to appear.

The King, who has always ruled for the good of the people, has a long lost child! After years and years of reading old dusy books and engaging in highly dangrous experiments that can only be described as problematic for the ordinary mind,  the archmage has found a method to locate the vital individual simply termed "The Inheritor".

However, in order to find his son/daughter the father has to give his blood and you have to use the gift of creativity you always have been known for in the kingdom.

Paint a portrait of The Inheritor and save the Kingdom.

Before you go the archmage reveales a secret to you that will devestate the king. His child, through a unknown spell when he was abducted, doesn't appear.... well, human in his current state.

Canvas Size - Exactly 100 x 100
Colours - Max. 16
Transparency - No.
Animation - No.

The sun, moon and stars have aligned across East and West this week to bring you a very auspicious challenge: the Double Zodiac!

You are challenged to combine your* Eastern Zodiac and Western Zodiac signs into a single** celestial being.

Example Birth Dates for inspiration:
Feb 3 2020: Water Rat (Rat, Aquarius)
June 4, 1986: Twin Tiger (Tiger, Gemini)
December 12, 1954: Horse Archer (Horse, Sagittarius)

* You are NOT REQUIRED to use your own birthday or birth year.
** Some signs (Pisces, Gemini) are often shown in pairs; this is fine as long as the Eastern and Western signs are clearly "combined"

Canvas Size - Exactly 144 x 144 (Square)
Colours - Max. 24
Transparency - Required
Animation - Optional

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
