The ASMS Gallery is hosting a Pixelart-specific show in its art gallery in September on Friday the 10th.  Which is where you come in.  Submit something, old or new, any subject matter, so long as the medium is pixel art.

We assumed that wasn't enough to sell you on the idea, so here's some incentive.
Though this is a show and not a competition, the entries will be judged and awarded accordingly.

Prizes are as follows:
1st Place- $100
2nd Place- $ 50
3rd Place- $ 25

There's no cost to enter, and you can submit old work- or use this as an excuse to make something new.  So there's little reason not to enter.

To enter, simply send the piece to my email at thereaintnocure@hotmail.com, or provide me a link in a private message here at the site.
It'd be very useful if you'd include your name, location (country/state), profession or student status, program used and any information you'd like to provide about the piece.

There is no limit on the number of entries, but prizes are restricted to one per person.

Deadline is the 23rd of September.

It haunts all of us day and night. Happy or sad, it is always resting on your subconscious mind. That one thing that given the slightest thought will cripple you completely. Your biggest fear. For some it is the dark, some death. What ever your trepidation may be, it is time to take a step forward and face your phobia (or at least try to) by pixeling it to the best of your abilities. Attempt to let your canvas show the viewer why you are truly mortified by this evil we call "Fear". --- Since this is YOUR greatest cowardice, there are no restrictions, because fear has none.

Yes, the time has come, catching many of us off-guard.  So for all the procrastinators and those whose schedules just got hectic (I fall into both categories), submissions are due September 30th.  Which may very well be today, depending on your timezone.  So if you'd like to enter the show, please send your submission(s) to thereaintnocure@hotmail.com or pm them to me either here or at pixelation.  I can't promise late entries will be accepted, so send your entries as soon as possible.
Thanks to all who entered, winners and photos from the opening will be posted sometime in October.

Challenge winner Emanu challenges you to use this picture to create an animated sprite, NOT a portrait.
Use the reference picture as the basis for the character. It may be cartoony, realistic or as used in a video game.
Based on the character as you see it (link below), then animate it somehow. Dancing, idle stance, fighting, shooting, whatever goes with your interpretation. Creativity as always, is key.

> reference image is posted in the forum <
Rules:
Canvas Size: 150x150px max
Animation: required, 3 frames minimum
Colors : 16
EDIT: CORRECTION/CLARIFICATION
Up to 16 colors may be used. One color is transparency.

Transparency: If you can do so then please do(this mean yes). Get Giffy from FAQ page or some online utility like www.iaza.com is also good.

You are challenged this week  to create an image using any of the CGA palettes listed below.

The image must include some kind of cyclops. You do not have to make it a 'typical' cyclops, it can be any creature with just one eye. However, it must be clear that the creature does just have one eye.

NOTE: If you were intending to make an image of the X-Men character "Cyclops" your piece will NOT be accepted into the challenge as technically that character is not a cyclops.
