It seems really counter intuitive to being a good artist. Why restrict yourself at all? Isn't one of the best things about being an artist to go all out and not be restricted by anything?

Who cares about some technical bullshit like that. I know they had to limit their pallettes on early systems, but guess what? They have new systems now that can do lots of cololurs!! hard to believe I know. Have you seen the new King of Fighters game or BlazBlue? they have amazing hi-res pixel art with probably thousands of colours. Are you going to go tell them to stop what they're doing because of some stupid rules you guys made up? Ugh. When I draw something I just try to make it look as cool as I can, i don't care how many colours it has. This place has a massive carrot stuck up it's ass.
