Thanks, TiddlesnBits. The colours as well as getting some of the details of the original illustrations (of which I had a much bigger version to reference) were the most fun parts. The Robot, Ninja, Lizard and Crystal Guy were the most challenging in terms of detailing. And a few of the more colourful ones like the Robot required a LOT of minmaxing colours to get into 15 colours + black.

Lol, plz. But yeah, it's been a while since I posted anything. Hope to post a bit more frequently.

Also the amount of work done by Kaneko-San can not be understated. It's all his designs, I "just" made the pixel versions.

Thanks. The AA and such is very smooth bc I am matching the style of old DOS stuff, since that is what the game is :)

Yeah, I could not find too many photos of this either. I also was pretty sure that I was right about the black levels, because I also noticed 2 stray pixels at the bottom left underneath the image, just touching it, but inside the border already, which to you are probably invisible on that main monitor.

A calibrated monitor would go a long way, but either way your are it great as is.

Excellent piece. Nothing really to critique.

One thing I noticed though. I think your monitor might have a less than ideal black contrast, bc the darkest colour and then the next brighter one in the trees are quite far apart in brightness. The transition there could be smoother, like in the original painting. I reckon this is due to your monitor.

Check out this website which has good tests for LCD monitors.

My guess is that the field 1 and 2 are already fully black for you.

Great stuff, lots of nice details all around. One thing that stuck out to me tho is that the ropes holding up the icon of sin head do not look convincing, in that they only look like they are in front of it, nothing behind, but also they do not look like they wrap around the horns properly. Other than that, just great. And the icon of sin head looks very cool as well itself.

This looks so neat, did this ever go anywhere?

Extremely lovely. One of the best MSX pictures I have seen. One thing I would do (with all oldschool machines) is add a border. It helps the viewing on this site, and old machines after all had overscan borders.

Makes me wanna do a proper MSX piece sometime.

Yeah, this one would work not issue. If you want I can make an executable from it and put it on csdb.dk :)
It's a nice pic for 2nd attempt.

Nice one.

I managed to get it into C64 with some messing around in Timanthes.

Had to move your sig up a tiny bit because C64 is 200 pixels tall. And it is a special gfx mode, because you did not follow normal MCOL restrictions super close in places.

I really like this. Love the composition and colour use.
One thing I would say (and this goes for all old computer images really) is that I would add a border around the picture, since you would have had a border on old systems, and you could in most cases change the colour too. I think the border is part of the image in these cases and changes how the image is percieved.

This is really cool. ALTHOUGH, I have one crit. The roadmarkers are way too pristine looking for how rough the road itself looks. I would grunge those up a bit.

I can not see the actual image here. I can only see the present. Is there a special reason for this?

Nice pic.

Where are the rasters? I checked the prg as well. I guess that is a mistake in the discription.
Also, I would really always include the border for C64 pics, since they are quite a bit of how the picture is percieved. The black border of the original makes it pop more. Here you are slave to the theme that people use, unless you provide the border yourself.
