Bummer. I'm a far right-wing conservative, but the text of the bill doesn't set well with me: "No court, justice, or judge shall have jurisdiction to hear or consider an application for a writ of habeas corpus filed by or on behalf of an alien detained by the United States who has been determined by the United States to have been properly detained as an enemy combatant or is awaiting such determination." So if they arrest me tonight, label me an enemy combatant, I say I'm not, they can hold me indefinitely until 'they' decide I am? Scary.

Surprising that a liberal place like New York would rule against same-sex marraige. Go figure.

JJ_Maxx @ 7/6/2006 07:43 commented on Knight Guy
I highly doubt this story would have made it through if the title was "Vote YES on Federal Marraige Amendment"

JJ_Maxx @ 7/6/2006 06:10 commented on Knight Guy
Toby, just FYI, propaganda is a specific type of message presentation directly aimed at influencing the opinions of people, rather than impartially providing information. It has nothing to do with superiority.

And Sedge, it's sad that the only viewpoints you will allow on this forum are what you call 'tolerant' ones. So it seems the only thing you don't tolerate, is intolerance. I just wish all the news articles on my favorite pixel forum wouldn't always be so liberal. Thats all.

JJ_Maxx @ 7/5/2006 19:49 commented on Knight Guy
I think the main problem I have with the article itself is that it doesn't even try to present a peice of news in any nuetral sense. You blatantly tell people reading to 'vote no' on this pro-homosexual marraige bill. You say things like 'the work isn't over' and make assumptions as to the beliefs of the readers. Honestly, it's more propaganda than news.

And even though I know I'm in the conservative 2% of the population around here, at least a little bit of nuetrality would be nice.

JJ_Maxx @ 7/5/2006 06:53 commented on Knight Guy
You cannot disseminate gay people from polygamists, pedophiles or dendropheliacs. They are all people who 'feel' a certain way, sexually, toward another thing, with consent.

To me 'tolerance' is just societies way of melting down moral boundaries and blurring the line between right and wrong. Nowadays, if it doesn't affect me, then why should I care? Genocide in Darfur? Starvation in Haiti? Hurricanes in Louisiana? None of it affects me but I choose to care. I choose to take an active role in helping my world and my country have a better tomorrow. But of course you all think that a better tomorrow means letting everyone on the planet do whatever they want.

JJ_Maxx @ 7/4/2006 04:37 commented on Knight Guy
Our society tends to think that if enough people do the wrong thing, for a long time, it becomes right. This goes way back to when your mother asked you if all your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too? Just because people do a certain action or feel a certain way doesn't mean the government should consider them a 'class' and give them special priviledges. There are many many other groups in society that do weird things, but we're not giving them tax breaks. I feel that whatever you do in the privacy of your own home is your own business, (Guys, girls, pets, appliances, etc.) but don't expect special treatement because you like to stick your 'in' tab in the 'out' hole.

Friday, October 11, 2002:
Senate voted 77-23 to authorize President Bush to attack Iraq. Hours earlier, the House approved an identical resolution, 296-133.

How can you place the blame on one man when these people that YOU,(ie, the American people.) elected into office?!

I talk only facts and don't say things like, 'obviously' and 'we all know' when in reality the average American only knows what their particular slanted media outlet pumps into their head on a daily basis.
The facts are that the House and the Senate, comprised of elected officials, gave this president the authority to do what he did. And I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that those people are alot more politically intelligent than any of us here, so how does that blame get placed? The current administration got the votes, went to the UN, waited for Saddam to kick out the inspectors and impede their progress. Hussein Kamel, Saddam's son-in-law and the man who was in charge of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction efforts can be heard on audio tapes, released in February, speaking openly about hiding information from the U.N. We gave the ultimatum, waited our time and did the right thing. The only reason the UN didn't accept our actions is because Russia and France had proven ties with the area.
I won't apologize for calling people out who enter into a political debate with a 5th grade mentality.

JJ_Maxx @ 4/21/2006 20:49 commented on Dancing Monkey
Oh please, all you blind liberals can do is throw slurs and label our president with grade-school name-calling. Grow up already. Don't forget that in October of 2002, John Kerry himself supported the current war in Iraq, despite the fact that Iraq had taken no aggressive action against its neighbors. After 9/11, our president realized that the whole middle east was quickly turning into a hotbed of anti-americanism and a breeding ground for weapons trafficking and terrorist activity, which would have inevitably lead to yet another 9/11-style attack. So go back to you cowardly, liberal past, when things were so great and getting head was more important than kicking ass for the future of our country.

When will people realize that privately owned websites and forums are dictatorships, not democracies. You have no freedom of speech, expression, etc.. But on the flip side, you're there by choice and you can leave anytime you like. I find it funny everytime someone pulls out the 'I have rights!' card.

That looks very nice, but the space in the hair the comes straight down makes the space look like a giant long nose. Perhaps make one side of the hair go off to the side a bit? Nice job! 7/10

Is it just me, or is that a three-story bus stop?

Nice work on the building, could stand a few more details but very nice nonetheless.
