I played Morrowind on the Xbox, and pretty unashamedly used the cheats that came with it.

Not counting all the hours lost due to saving and reloading and dying, I think I had something like 600 hours on one character, at least.

Definitely at least 1k all in all, including time spent on the PC as an adult.

Aren't there like, multi-consoles that can play NES, SNES, Master System, and Genesis games?

that don't cost $300

Oh, but wait, they don't use the original hardware so it isn't legit, or something.

You haven't lived until you've hit your head on a ceiling fan simply from standing up.

I quite liked that!

I thought that the controls felt a little wonky at times, but I loved the concept and the execution was pretty sound.

The relationship to the theme was really clever, as well.

As an aside, the concept reminds me a bit of this LD28 game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlRbdlk67SU

You don't directly modify variables in that one, but instead activate cheat codes to metroidvania around a world and discover more cheat codes.

I hope it goes the FTL route with DLC and just puts a button to turn it on and off.

Man, who woulda thought a number game mixed with a sliding block puzzle would be so good.

I don't like either of those things, but mixed together they're pretty good.

...uh, Google bought Youtube in 2006.

This is definitely not a new partnership.

However, they have made some changes to their copyright detection schemes, lately, for the worst.

You hear about Terry Cavanagh getting the trailer for VVVVVV taken down due to a company claiming ownership of the music in it?

The technology and whatnot in the books' home universe is kinda neo-victorian. Not much steam power, but everything's extremely low tech due to Megachurch ruling over the world and science.

RE Dune and Steampunk: No, just no.

If you want to see something that's ACTUALLY Steampunk, play Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura. Probably the best thing in the genre that I can actually think of. Can't think of any books that I own that fit the bill, though.

The internet kinda ruined the term, in my opinion. Nowadays Steampunk means "shit has cogs on it" or it's brassy coloured or whatnot. It's not really STEAMpunk if the universes' technology doesn't run on STEAM, y'know?

Metroid: Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission are both great games.

Fusion's more linear, Zero Mission's more open.

I like the design of the creature, but the leg animation is a little janky.

Needs some more tween frames.

That didn't end too well in Fallout.

I'm a fan of bright colours, and bold shapes and silhouettes. Thus, I tend to love cel-shading and sprites in the cel style.

Wind Waker is my personal favourite Zelda, but the art style only has a little to do with it. I'm one of those people who actually liked sailing all around the world hunting for things. Give me a giant world and the means to explore it, and I'm probably going to enjoy the experience.

Mouth harp, I think it's called. Other than that, I don't know much about it, other than they get kinda gross after a while.

Skyward Sword is also a hand-holding nightmare, or so I'm told. Telling you that blue rupees are worth five every time you boot the game and pick one up, etc. Wouldn't know myself, though, I haven't touched my Wii since Other M defiled it.

Hey there, my name is Ponzi, and boy, have I got a money making plan for YOU!

For serious, people pay a LOT of money for older toys and comics. At least, ones that are in good condition.

Nostalgia tends to be an overwriting factor these days when it comes to spending money "wisely".

Mario Kart on pterodactyls would be pretty sweet, I think.

Green, I am 100%, seriously curious here: Why do you think Brazil is communist? That's never been a thing down there.

You might be thinking of Cuba, which is far closer to the US, and also much smaller.
