I honestly don't know if making such high resolution pixels is a great idea, but I'm not yet convinced it's antithetical to the artform. In any case experimenting with this upward limit doesn't do any harm and I'm not sure why you would discourage it, you have the rest of pixel joint for wonderful, more traditional, works. I suppose it's good to know that someone sees the experiment in size as a failure, that's valid. But it's important to understand that i'm not doing any of this by accident.

I would hope that my gallery, and my position as a professional freelancer, would attest to the fact that I have at least some understanding of the medium Also your implication that this took more time isn't correct. The whole point of this peice was to see if I could push the upward limit of resolution without effecting production time all that dramaticaly. If you check my tumblr you would see that I index paint initialy for this reason. I'm happy for people to critize my art, this is far from a flawless picture and the comments here already have a lot of useful and valid stuff, but please don't presume that my intentions are wrong just because you have a preconceived notion of what pixel art should look like.
