I tried to make the preview the same (in fact, I didn't want a preview at all), but the image was larger than 100 pixels at it's original size so it was impossible to upload the image without either shrinking it or uploading a different one.  And since shrinking it would have ruined it I uploaded the image this one is based on (this image is a detailed version of the image I used for the preview).

As for the flatness, I'm not sure how to fix that.  This picture doesn't really look right to me, but that always happens on large images.

I was actually thinking about adding some highlights and shadows, but for this I personally like it without the highlights and such.  :p  Not really sure why however, but I think it gives it a somewhat more cartoony look which goes with those eyes.

However, once I get around to making a detailed version of this character I'll be adding highlights.  But in order for me to do that it has to be much bigger as there's objects in the pupils which are meant to be visible, and last time I attempted drawing that I got all the proportions so wrong (I'm terrible with proportions on large images).  But with the detailed version I want every little detail to be visible (and there's quite a few small details), so to do that I have to make it huge.  ;^;  :P

(*needs to learn how to make large images without messing up proportions :p*)

No, I coloured it by hand.  I didn't limit myself to just a few colours however (I prefer to use whatever colours I want).
