@LuckyF, my tile section is bottom lit from the lava cuz my tile is really boring, so are the people in the window. We may need Jeremy to give some shadows on his when we are done.

So here's what I had in mind if terms of colors lightning. Also it suppose to be a little bit tilted and sinking in lava. That's how I remember it from the cartoon ) Got to do some 'googling' for actual details and stuff )))

Damm, you have metal panels and some bottom lit too, woot!
One circle seemed boring so I have bigger orb over small one with claws for drills so it makes my bottom neighbor's drill tie in. Pretty much we have the same general idea. Is that a crack or an opening?

 Hm.  Turned out pretty different ) I was thinking more of making pretty accurate technodrome from TNMT.
 I guess will do some crazy mix now )) Thou I would like to have that square things poking out all over the sphere ) Oh and have the eye thing on top. But that's up to whoever take 12.

What square thing? I can make the drills be one of those? The thing about accurate TNMT is we don't know 12+19. My tile without some variations will be quite boring. I'm open to modify and only seem to be glued to the big window porthole with people as a must :/

 I think we should keep some trademark attributes thou. Like the square things, guns and eye thing on top.

That's cool! I have to deal with the pole in the lava in my bottom corner so I'll make that a glass observation deck and have people in there covering that side of the Technodrone. My bottom edge is over lava so the threads won't make sense there and if lifted they disappear. I could bring in enough rocks in the lava for it to work. That works for me but know that in the end it may only be 80% true.

 Well I remember in some episodes it was sinking into the earth's core and threads were fine. They are lava-proof ) But TD 2.0 can as well be hovering not a problem with me )

Did my drill give you the technodrome idea? If so I too was inspired by TMNT and was hoping someone would draw Shredder and the gang on the next tile :)

Btw, shadow on lava? Would a shadow appear on a lightsource?

Tile #65, WIP2:



Experimenting with torches n stuff. I always wanted to get some use out of Jalonso's pillars but they didn't quite work with the building. The roof tiles are big (not unheard of)...but I was thinking more of gold-sheets. But the simple fact is that another set of small tiles will make the image jittery and unpleasant. Anyhoo, I've weakened the roof-lines a bit to make it less tile-y. Tried to find a symbol for Hades...the two-pronged staff is the only good/cool thing I could find (maybe I could have asked Zenobia ;) ).

@all: That huge sphere is a cool thing...I will be fun to see it puzzled together :)

hehe, I think if nothing else it would cast some light glow on the more metallic areas. Of course nobody has said this is lava, its just assumed cuz we all fail at thinking creatively. Maybe its butter :p

@Gecimen, I think shadows can be on lit areas too. Secondary lightsources do that, generally in a starburst pattern. This is for soft lighting not hard lighting, that would then be specular lighting...or something like that.

This was very hard blending into a solid blue ground and a blueish green wall, not sure i could have done better, Id like to see what yourr talking about so I can better this blending skill.

Its nice. I do think you can better define the snake thing so it reads better. Perhaps using more dark blue around it or adding shadows could fix that. the creature being at that angle is cool but maybe one section could be iso before it straightens out again? What are those 2 things on the bottom?

haha i know i was thinkin they didn't look right
well the first one the red pink brown is supposed 2 be a person
but i couldn't find a way to make the head more pronounced
and the gray things r supposed 2 b rocks XD
i agree with the shadow thing ill ad shadows going / that way

Isometric is the angle of this collab. Isometric/Iso is the perspective its all drawn in.

it took me soo long to get the shading right...but art is about
being able to change...ill save the other tile and make a now thing
and btw where u put a big fat WHAT?? thats supposed 2 be a tail XD

i see what you mean now..and that last hump by the hole...
XD thats the head...u can see an eye sticking out..so idk if u wana turn it into a hump...but yah got it now..no more spamming  all over the post XD

Go work on a revised version then. Place head and eye wherever you want. Keep the tail if you want too.
Its only a problem if people ask 'what is it', when they do there's a problem. Update whenever you you are ready :)

Nice job Pandora :), you think maybe you can visit this piece just a little longer to add a little bit of water highlights so it matches your neighbor(s) better? See the main image and look where the kraken meets your tile.
Your shadow seems wrong notice shadows go straight across this way <<<<<
If you want to add some extra flair maybe you could have a couple sitting in the sand...kissing/looking out to sea/sitting/fighting/etc.

Okidoki, think I'll call tile #65 done for now. Will probably revise at a future date, once all the flaws are clearer to me (or there's enough complaints ;) )

Decided to be truer to NTMT. Ditched the drill 9.9
