ok. so, i decided that for the first time in my pixel career, i wanted to make a house that looked realstic in some sense of the word. i wanted to create a random game screenshot, and that screenshot needed a house. however, i am lazy, and this is all i have made so far.

old -->         new-->

if the white in between the wood slats seems yellow, i'm sorry. i had seen my work on another, older computer with a round screen and the contrast was terrible. or, my contrast was off. just letting you know!

The white is a bit yellow, but it would look fine if the surrounding shadow was too. The windows need glass or something in them, and the door needs a special tile above it. Good overall, this piece has potential.

thanks guys. i fixed the window. hwoever, it now looks too small. i need to go fix their position. should both the door and windows be enlarged to fit the size of the house?

also fixed the yellow tintage, but monkey, i have no idea what you mean by needing of a "special tile" above the door. what is it?

glass coming soon..... maybe.

I like the newer version for colors but find that the proportions are very off. The windows are higher than the door which is unrealistic, these should come down to at least the door height. Taking that into account the height of the elevation is a bit too tall I'd say 5-8 pixels lower is more believable. On the roof slopes they appear to be mirrored wether they are or not, some variation would help a lot, its not like you're creating an actual screen with tiles but simply a mokup.

For a 'special tile', maybe a horizontal board or something, but now it looks like the 2x4 is just sticking down into the doorway or something. Also largen the door while you're at it.

Also, The palette has too many similar colors. Try eliminating your 3rd darkest brown and replacing with the 2nd darkest, and the two little colors used on the whitish are unneeded, maybe just dither with the gray-blue you have there instead.

WHOO, long post for me.

Well that could be fixed if the roof was unified into one (L shaped) roof. This would help the building look like its one structure since it could be confused for two structure now. This could be done if the point of the front building"s point met the back building's top and the right side of the slope went all the way back. I may not be explaining that correctly so I will search for an example and edit this post ASAP.

I don't think we are communicating well here (tho it's probably just
me). What do you mean by seamless? I think the actual roof looks
great, in my post I suggested that you make the roof a continuing
roof that connect both angles of the cottage (an L roof). I have tried
to find an example but found none :(
