Could have been a better result if you look how much it fools people (imo) but well, i love roadsigns (dont know why) so i like it

The very first time I click on "Messages", the browser takes me to SedgeMonkey's profile!  But only the first time I do it per browser.  Is this some kind of sick April Fools Day prank or what!?

 

Is anyone else who submitted April Fools Day art experiencing this, or am I going nuts?

Tried to do a  jalonso style Ghostbusters  firehouse which wasn't easy given the time left for the challenge.

Great stuff, everybody.

I was gonna try Buloght, as well. Then I realized this guys detailing and dithering is insane and it would take me weeks to do this (even if I didn't have a 12 page paper to do). So I'm wimping out.



I learned a lot by looking at his stuff, tho. I don't think I totally got his muted palette down. I love the way he uses darker outlines/shadows on elements closer to the screen and lighter outlines/no shadows on things farther away. He really increases depth and simulates atmosphere between distances well that way. I also love the way he uses two or more figures, one large and one smaller at different distances in composition. I didn't notice that until I had started, tho.

(BTW, Looking back on it, I think I owe Terry Gilliam a beer for the idea)

And I don't think I'll finish this mock-up =P

I beg you to finish this 1...! it looks very very cool, and the ground and BG reminds me of worms armageddon and worms 2 (So does the banana-like character, cause you have banana bombs in worms)...

They look great, but it still reads major FrankieSmilieShow to me :) I think it's your use of such dark colors and that purple that makes it that way. I would make the belly white, because fool doesn't really use dark colors like the oness you used. Hope I was of any help.

My try to weekly challlenge - attempt to repeat Mykola's style. I took some of his characters and made it in isometric projection. So, here it is - sunday night party at Myk's garage! =) (sorry, too many colors, didn't counted it at all).

I think I'm going to have to cop out with my attempt at buloght aswell. I just seemed to have gotten bogged down in other pursuits. I apologise to buloght.

Somehow my Blue SedgeMonkey got left out of the voting mix.  Maybe I forgot to check the box when I submitted it.  Oh well, it probably wouldn't have won anything...
