Personally I think any sentient life form should count. It'd be even better if 'non-sentient' things could be used to convey jealousy as well, like a shriveled house plant 'looking' out the window at an oak. But I didn't organize this challenge so that's just my two cents.

Thanks for the challenge update! I had been working on something that didn't quite fit but now it does. I'm basically done with this, but since submitting isn't up yet, maybe I can get some feedback here and make some more improvements.

Ah crap, this is awesomeness. Not to mention it fits the rules now.

Well, seeing as my jelly blobs are back in the game now and I have extra time to improve my piece, I might as well post my progress here again. Let me know what you guys think:



Obviously the clouds are still WIP. I wasn't quite satisfied with the green blob's expression (it doesn't quite convey jealousy, more like surprise) and I thought this would be a neat way to symbolize envy more clearly.

Also, Mrmo, you pixel master, that piece is wonderful

a3um: The alignment of the gun with the background pattern (vertical) is a bit unfortunate, it makes the gun blend in.

I think you're right about the wings. I took out most of the sharp greens and the reds. I kept the softer greens though, because I think they make the wings a little prettier, and they help to further distinguish the wings from all the rest of the blues in that area (as well as balance the green across the piece).



I see what you're saying about the face, and I agree that the blobs should be the main focus. I really want to keep that face there though. Perhaps making more brightness contrast between the blob and the clouds will make the blob a more prominent focal point? Here's what it looks like with the clouds significantly darkened:

I love the colors and the hazy dark look, great composition so far. Am I right in thinking the man with the gun is jealous of the man with the woman?

@iMoose, yes I like the darkened clouds and face more. Perhaps you should also change the blue background behind the flying slime. I dunno. That yellow sun in the upper corner also tugs at the eye. Perhaps get rid of it (or change it to blue?)

Sorry for the confusing advice. Color choices can be tough.

edit: perhaps with the clouds you could stick with the slightly brighter green version, but get rid of the BRIGHT GREEN in the eyes (they really stick out in the darker version).

I havent done any pixel art in quite a while so i think im a little bit rusty.

^I still don't see it. You need to show what they're jealous of too.

Je suis d'accord pour donner la définition de représentation mais alors une fois le challenge fini, je ne comprend pas pourquoi personne n'est capable de spéculation pour mon art-pixel , je prend avec amertume la réaction anti-artistique de vous tousse !!! j'ai horreur de me justifier, surtout au près de faible d'estime.  Mais je reste fier de mon art et je ne le prendrais pas mal si celui si n'est simplement pas accepter pour le challenge !

J'aime tes créations aussi. Mais il faut que tu suives tous les régles du concours. En ce moment je ne vois ni la personne jalouse ni le sujet de la jalousie.
