CHALLENGE: Penguin Awareness Day

January 20 was penguin awareness day. We weren't aware of the awareness day until after the awareness day. So, we're going to have a belated penguin-related challenge this week: Create an image that features a penguin using exactly three colours.

Optional Bonus Challenge: Avoid using black or white.

Canvas Size - Max 150 x 150.
Colours - Exactly 3.
Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

The remote and tv have one, why can't the cup have one too? I meant shadow as in a shadow that it casts on the table.

And yeah - I am probably going to use straight black and white colors. :)

Try reducing the orange's saturation and increasing the grey's lightness a bit- at its current state, the orange is not very good to use for antialiasing :)

Feedback welcome.. you guys think this is too simple? Since I only used 2 colors I added some ... circles for balance.

I am not very experienced with highly minimalistic styles such as this...

If you will polish this animation and make it more contrast it will work. so far it looks like it is being watched through a green bottle.

the "probably final" version of this. Still a bit lighter than the original to make it stick out better, but darker than v2 to make the aa look unworse.

Um... That was just a sketch scribble to help me picture my piece, so I dunno why would pixel placement and clusters matter in this case :/ And I only finished today and submitted it.

Yeah, the anatomy is a bit odd in places and stuff, so it probably needs re-working. And of course, I have plenty of time before the poll :3
