CHALLENGE: Splitting 11s

Challenge winner |||| presents: The Sequel to Splitting 10s:

Create an image that is split equally into two parts - either horizontally or vertically. Each half of your canvas must use one of the two palettes shown below (separated by the dotted line). You must use all 11 colours from both palettes - 11 colours on one half of the canvas, 11 on the other; with a grand total of 16 unique colours.

Canvas size - Unrestricted.
Colours - Exactly 16. Use all the colours from the top part of the palette for one half of your image and the lower part of the palette for the other half of your image.

Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.

Here's my entry, a work of one day, though some problems with dithering again... and the animation of the grass, any suggestions?

Philippe: Really impressive! That looks awesome, it's like Spring fighting a subtle revolution against a very cold Winter. (you're making things look better than I thought the palette was capable of).
 
Consalvo: nice stylized dither the animated shadow is also a nice touch.  Maybe add more grass (wrapping into the distance, in the background) so it's no a lone-standing piece.

what do you mean? count the color.. just divide the canvas into 2 sections to get the shape. I have started with a canvas of two colors split in half.. then mirrored shapes in 16x16 pixel tile shapes.

Whoa, so much details.



My WIP. I hope this shape will be accepted.
It's the homage to Junji Ito excellent horror manga Uzumaki (Spiral).
The tongue is shaded quite wrong, I need to fix that.
It's my first portrait ever and so far I'm satisfied with it.

Jinn: Thanks a lot! It'll be hard to finish..
 but I'm going to work on it all day and through the night starting this moment.

Gameboy: that'll work.. since we're allowing shaped sides we ought to let them in even if they aren't perfectly 50/50 (as long as they are very close).

TZero: keep it up! Looks good so far just remember no transparency in the end. I know this palette pretty much sucks but, if you find a way to use it; it can look pretty good!

||||, don't worry, I've checked the pure black & white split pattern with GIMP histogram and mean value of colours is 127,5, which means there's a 50/50 split.

Racing to get this done, needs a little more work and a background!

The pallette is not so bad, I've used worse (example: all of my palettes) its very C64 with the greys!
